“Having grown up on 90’s pop culture and actually being a fan of the original Legends of the Hidden Temple, I am thrilled to be hosting the new updated version of the show,” she said in a statement. “The biggest challenge for me on this show will be trying to simultaneously host it and contain my geeked-out excitement at the same time.”

“To say I’m VERY excited to host #LegendsOfTheHiddenTemple would be an understatement. Who gets the chance to host a show they grew up watching? This show is SO much fun,” Cristela added on Instagram.

You may recognize Cristela from one of her many projects, including her namesake show Cristela on ABC in 2014, as the voice of Cruz Ramirez in Cars 3, or on His Dark Materials. She also played Ashley’s mother on The Expanding Universe of Ashley Garcia, and most recently appeared in two episodes of Netflix’s The Upshaws!

The upcoming Legends of the Hidden Temple will be more geared to adults, with adult players, unlike the Nickelodeon version years ago.

The series is set to debut on The CW this October. Find out more premiere date info here!
