Candice Accola Talks Steroline, Forwood & 'The Vampire Diaries' Finale (JJJ Interview)

Candice Accola opens up about what’s to come tonight on the epic season six finale of The Vampire Diaries!

We caught up with the 28-year-old actress at the CW Upfronts where she gave us some scoop on Stefan (Paul Wesley) and Caroline – aka Steroline – and what she thinks of Caroline’s journey this season.

“I think that Caroline’s definitely changed,” she told JJJ. “I think the fact that in last week’s episode she told Stefan, ‘Look, I really like you. Let’s do this, but I had a really crazy year, so I need some time for myself. That is a very mature response. I don’t think I’ve ever been that mature in my entire life. I think it’s really special and cool. Especially going into next season and even tonight’s finale, there’s a really sweet Stefan and Caroline moment that I think fans of the couple will like.”

Meanwhile, Kat Graham talked to us about Bonnie and Damon (Ian Somerhalder), saying, “I think had to get worse before it got better and I think it’s definitely gotten worse. I think they had to hate each other before they could love each other, for sure.”

The Vampire Diaries finale airs TONIGHT, May 14 @ 8PM on The CW!

JustJaredJr.com Interview – Candice Accola

JustJaredJr.com: What about Caroline and Tyler? Will we see any sort of goodbye scene with them tonight or is there nothing left to say there?

Candice Accola: I think we got a little bit of Caroline and Tyler, and where they stand, in last week’s episode. They really don’t have anything to talk about anymore. Even when I read that scene, I was like, ‘They are being so honest.’ They aren’t friends. They aren’t pretending that they’re cool with each other. Instead, they are trying to awkwardly be friends again and he’s like, ‘No, you don’t get to give me advice. I really liked it. I thought it was a good moment.

JJJ: Both Carolina and Bonnie both had to deal with a lot of stuff this season. Any chance we’ll see more of their friendship next year?

CA: I hope so. I think Caroline and Bonnie will have more time together, I hope that they do. I really don’t know what’s happening in season seven, but there is a little bit of a tease tonight at the end of the finale. Judging by that, I think there’s a chance that all these characters will come together.

JJJ: And we have to talk Damon. Caroline’s never really liked him, but clearly Elena is going somewhere tonight. Will Caroline be sympathetic?

CA: Damon won some major points at Caroline’s mother’s funeral. So there’s potential for these characters to be in a good place. But I don’t think she’ll ever truly trust him.
