Grammy Nominees Alessia Cara & Julia Michaels Perform at Spotify's Best New Artist Party in NYC

Alessia Cara has the time of her life on stage during Spotify’s Best New Artist Party held at Skylight Clarkson on Thursday night (January 25) in New York City.

The 21-year-old singer is up for the big honor at this weekend’s 2018 Grammys, along with Julia Michaels, who also performed at the party.

Julia also performed at Delta Airlines Pre-Grammy Party.

Speaking with LA Times recently, Julia opened up about how she found out that she was nominated for Best New Artist and Song of the Year for “Issues”.

She was fast asleep after a show in Australia when her manager crept into her hotel room to tell her the news.

“She was like, ‘Hey, I don’t want to freak you out, but you’re nominated!’” Julia remembers. “Then she fell over me and we started crying.”
