Maia Mitchell Says 'The Last Summer' Is A Film Everyone Can Relate To

Maia Mitchell‘s new film, The Last Summer, premieres in just two more days on Netflix.

Speaking with Access at the red carpet premiere about the flick, the -year-old actress opened up about what sets this movie apart from the other recent rom coms on the streaming service.

“There are so many characters and so many storylines going on that I think there is a character there for everyone to relate to and connect to something that’s happening in the movie,” Maia shared.

She added that “it’s also such a universal theme, a coming-of-age film about people at a crossroads [and] figuring out where they want to go, post high school…”

Maia plays Phoebe in the flick with KJ Apa, Jacob Latimore and Halston Sage.
