Steve Martin Gushes Over Selena Gomez In 'Only Murders In The Building'

Steve Martin is speaking highly of his younger co-star Selena Gomez!

In the 28-year-old actress and singer’s Vogue cover story, her 75-year-old Only Murders In The Building co-star gushed over her performance in the show so far, and said there wasn’t a question on if she should be in it.

“You get a list of names, you know, you’re thinking, sure, they’d be good, they’d be good, and then they say, ‘What about Selena Gomez?’ and it’s just—yes, of course. There was no question except ‘Can we get her?’ We knew she would enhance the show in so many ways, the number one being talent,” he told the mag.

“Her performance is rich and adult,” he added. “She’s learned to underplay when necessary. Marty and I are pretty manic, and she’s this solid, solid rock foundation. She’s nicely, intensely low-key.”

Steve added that there’s no sense of her stardom when she’s on set, saying, “She’s just working. And Marty and I joke around constantly, and we weren’t sure if she’d be game for it. But now we think of ourselves as the Three Musketeers.”

We of course know that Selena has great comedic timing and delivery from her time on Wizards of Waverly Place, which is also the last time she did a TV show. We can’t wait for the new show!
