Anne Winters Almost Had This Other Role in '13 Reasons Why'

Anne Winters will be in the upcoming season two of Netflix’s 13 Reasons Why as Chloe — but before that, she was up for another key role in the series — Hannah Baker!

Speaking with Hollywood Life, the actress (who you know from AwesomenessTV’s Zac & Mia) opened up about reading for the part, which ultimately went to Katherine Langford.

“I actually almost got the role of Hannah,” Anne revealed. “I went to New York and met Brian [Yorkey, creator] and everything.”

Not getting the role had her avoiding watching the series at first, too: “You know, when you don’t get something you’re like ‘oh, that sucks’. When it was such a big hit at the beginning I was like you know what, I don’t need to watch it right now. I’ll wait ’til later.”

But then, she booked Chloe and “I was like ‘okay, I gotta watch all of them’, so I binge watched it all.”

Anne is also keeping mum on any spoilers for season two as well, and that includes anything about Chloe.

“My character is pretty in the middle of the drama this whole season,” she says. “I’m curious to see what people’s view of her is like because I think it might change from the beginning to the season towards the end. She kind of goes through a big arc. So I’m excited to see the reaction to her.”
