Aimee Carrero & Shane Paul McGhie Added To 'The Boys' Spinoff Cast!

Aimee Carrero is heading back to television in the upcoming The Boys spinoff at Prime Video!

The Young & Hungry actress will be joined by Shane Paul McGhie and Maddie Phillips as well, Deadline reveals.

The trio will play young superheroes in the spinoff “set at America’s only college exclusively for young adult superheroes (and run by Vought International). It is described as an irreverent, R-rated series that explores the lives of hormonal, competitive Supes as they put their physical, sexual and moral boundaries to the test, competing for the best contracts in the best cities. Part college show, part Hunger Games — with all the heart, satire and raunch of The Boys.”

If you missed it, these actresses were also recently announced to be joining the show!

While Aimee has had recurring roles on Blindspot and The Village, this will be her first regular role on a live action TV show since Young & Hungry ended.

Just last summer, Aimee said goodbye to one of her other shows, after four years.

Aimee Carrero Is Not Ready For 'Elena of Avalor' To End This Weekend

Aimee Carrero is getting ready to say goodbye to Elena of Avalor!

The former Young & Hungry star has voiced the title character since it premiered on Disney Channel in 2016.

Now, the show, which features Disney’s first Latina princess, will air it’s series finale THIS Sunday (August 23) with a Coronation Day special.

“I am in complete denial that my beloved #ElenaofAvalor is coming to an end this Sunday 💔👑💃🏽,” she wrote on Twitter earlier this week. See what she said after the finale was announced!

Aimee also opened up about the ending in a new interview.

“It’s sad. It’s the end of six years of my life, and they’ve been a very transformative six years,” she told The List. “This is like the fun part. The part where we get to celebrate now, and talk about it, and be like, ‘Wow, we did this thing!’”

“My favorite thing that I’ve learned is that a leader is not born. A leader is made, and I think her as a leader was made through many mistakes,” she added. “That’s one of the things I wish to emulate about her.”

Aimee Carrero Reacts to the 'Elena of Avalor' Finale News

Aimee Carrero is opening up about the ending of Elena of Avalor!

The 32-year-old actress has been lending her voice to the title character since the show premiered in 2016.

“💔💔💔💔 #ElenaofAvalor,” she said in response to the show’s creator’s tweet.

“This is so bittersweet. Voicing #ElenaofAvalor has meant the absolute world to me. I can’t thank ⁦@CraigGerber_ enough for this opportunity of a lifetime. ❤️👑💃🏽,” she added in another tweet.

Aimee also shared a behind the scenes video of the cast talking about the final episodes on her Instagram story.

“What a privelege to be a part of #ElenaOfAvalor, the first Latina princess for Disney,” she wrote. “She has changed my life and helped shape my future. I’m so thankful.”

'Elena of Avalor' Coming to an End With Coronation Day Special

Elena of Avalor‘s story is coming to a close!

It was just announced that the series about the first Latinx Disney princess will air it’s series finale with a Coronation day special episode.

In the finale, “as plans for Elena’s coronation are underway, Esteban’s team of villains unleash legendary spirit misfits, the Four Shades of Awesome. In order to save her kingdom, her family and her friends, Elena must journey to the Spirit World and back, and face the ultimate test of her courage and character, before becoming queen.”

Elena of Avalor premiered in July 2016, and features the voices of Aimee Carrero as Princess Elena, Jenna Ortega as Princess Isabel, Chris Parnell, Yvette Nicole Brown and Carlos Alazraqui as jaquins Migs, Luna and Skylar, respectively, Emiliano Díez as Francisco, Julia Vera as Luisa, Christian Lanz as Chancellor Esteban, Jillian Rose Reed as Naomi, Joseph Haro as Mateo, Jorge Diaz as Gabe, Keith Ferguson as Zuzo and Joe Nunez as Armando.

Young & Hungry's Aimee Carrero Cast In NBC Comedy Pilot 'Someone Out There'

Aimee Carrero could be heading to NBC!

The former Young & Hungry actress has been cast as a lead in a new comedy pilot called Someone Out There, Deadline reports.

The show, which is based off the Spanish series Pequeñas Coincidencias, is a single-camera romantic comedy about two set-in-their-ways adults, Derek (Ryan Hansen) and Chloe (Carrero), who are challenged by very unexpected strangers to become the best versions of themselves in order to find love and possibly each other.

Aimee can currently be heard on the Netflix show She-Ra and the Princesses of Power, as well as on Elena of Avalor on Disney Channel and Disney+!

Aimee Carrero wears a navy suit to the 2020 Critics’ Choice Awards held at Barker Hangar on Sunday (January 12) in Santa Monica, Calif.

The 31-year-old She-Ra and the Princesses of Power actress was joined by her cast mates AJ Michalka, Marcus Scribner, Karen Fukuhara, Lauren Ash, and Noelle Stevenson.

“Going to the #CriticsChoiceAwards today with my #SheRa lovelies and am pretty confident we will take home the award for “Roudiest Table.” 🌈⚡️🗡💕,” Aimee tweeted.

She-Ra was nominated for Best Animated Series, but unfortunately lost out to BoJack Horseman.

Netflix debuted the animated character’s updated design for She-Ra and the Princesses of Power‘s season four, which debuts on November 4th.

AJ Michalka joined co-stars Aimee Carrero, Lauren Ash and Karen Fukuhara, as well as executive producer Noelle Stevenson during the 2019 New York Comic Con at Jacob K. Javits Convention Center on Sunday (October 6) in New York City., to chat up the new season and debut a brand new teaser for the new episodes.

Season 4 begins with the respective rises of Queen Glimmer as leader of the Rebellion and Catra as co-leader of the Horde. As the Horde makes advances on the Rebellion under the looming threat of Horde Prime’s arrival, the Princess Alliance makes heroic strides but begins to disagree on the best way to defend Etheria.

Ultimately, a shocking discovery about Etheria itself causes Adora to reconsider everything she thought she knew.
