Austin Butler To Star In New Series 'Masters of Air,' Tom Hanks Producing

Austin Butler is set to star in a new series for Apple TV+!

The 19-year-old actor will reunite with Tom Hanks for Masters of Air, a continuation of the Band of Brothers/The Pacific franchise, Variety reports.

Austin will star as Major Gale Cleven, alongside Callum Turner as Major John Egan. Tom and Steven Spielberg are serving as executive producers on the project.

Based on the book of the same name by Donald L. Miller, the series follows the true story of the American bomber boys in World War II who brought the war to Hitler’s doorstep.

Austin and Tom just recently worked together on the upcoming Elvis Presley biopic, where they star as Elvis and Colonel Tom Parker, respectively. The movie ‘s release was recently pushed back to Summer 2022.

Callum is currently working on the upcoming third Fantastic Beasts movie, where he reprises his role as Theseus Scamander.

Austin Butler's 'Elvis' Movie Release Date Gets Moved To 2022

Fans are going to have to wait much longer before seeing Austin Butler as Elvis Presley!

It was recently announced that Warner Bros. has pushed back the Baz Luhrmann-directed pic to June 3, 2022.

The movie was originally supposed to be released on November 5, 2021, but since they are still filming it won’t be ready in time, Variety reports.

Sources tell Variety that they still have five more weeks of material to film. They have been in production in Australia, and Austin was seen out and about back in November.

The upcoming film “will explore the life and music of Elvis Presley, seen through the prism of his complicated relationship with his enigmatic manager, Colonel Tom Parker. The story delves into the complex dynamic between Presley and Parker spanning over 20 years, from Presley’s rise to fame to his unprecedented stardom, against the backdrop of the evolving cultural landscape and loss of innocence in America.”

Austin will star as Elvis of course, Olivia DeJonge (pictured here) will star as Priscilla Presley and Tom Hanks as Colonel Tom Parker. Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham, Kate Mulvany, Dacre Montgomery, Helen Thomson, Luke Bracey, Gary Clark, Jr., Yola, Shonka Dukureh, Shannon Sanders, Lenesha Randolph, Jordan Holland, Kelvin Harrison Jr, and Natasha Bassett round out the cast.

If you missed it, it was just announced that this model has joined the cast to portray Little Richard.

Austin Butler Spotted In Australia Amid Elvis Presley Biopic Filming

Austin Butler is seen rocking his black hair and Elvis Presley ‘do while out and about on Friday (November 20) in Gold Coast, Australia.

The 29-year-old actor is set to star as the late King of Rock ‘N Roll in an upcoming Baz Luhrmann biopic.

Austin has been working on the film since August of 2019, but obviously had to take time off this year due to the pandemic.

He will be joined by Tom Hanks, who will play Elvis‘ manager Colonel Tom Parker, and Olivia DeJonge as Priscilla Presley.

It was recently announced that Dacre Montgomery, Richard Roxburgh, Helen Thomson and David Wenham have also joined the cast.

“Elvis was surrounded by an extraordinary array of rich personalities, and we are very fortunate to pull together a tremendous ensemble to tell this story,” Baz said in a statement, via Variety. “It’s exciting to unite some of Australia’s finest actors, from longtime collaborators from Moulin Rouge!, Australia and The Great Gatsby like Richard Roxburgh, David Wenham and Kate Mulvany, to exciting new faces such as Dacre Montgomery, Helen Thomson, Luke Bracey, Natasha Bassett and many more. It’s safe to say that everyone was shocked when it was revealed that Vanessa Hudgens and Austin Butler split after almost 9 years together.

Austin has been preparing to play Elvis Presley in the upcoming biopic about the singer, while Vanessa just returned from filming part of The Princess Switch 2 for Netflix.

Apparently, they “are split for now” but they’re “going to see what happens,” another insider told the site. “They have such a history and deep connection they could find their way back to one another.”

The pair were first linked in September of 2011, and rumors that they split began over the holidays when the 31-year-old actress appeared to be on vacation without the 28-year-old actor.

“Vanessa and Austin are officially broken up, and Vanessa has been telling those close to her about their breakup,” a source told Us Weekly.

The last official appearance they made together came back in August of 2019.

Vanessa previously spoke about if she ever felt the pressure to marry Austin.

The Society's Olivia DeJonge Will Join Austin Butler in Elvis Movie!

Olivia DeJonge is best known for her work in the Netflix series The Society and now she has landed her star-making role!

The 21-year-old Aussie actress is set to play Priscilla Presley in the upcoming biopic about Elvis, which is going to be directed by Baz Luhrmann.

Austin Butler is set to play the late rock star and Tom Hanks will play his manager, Colonel Tom Parker.

“Olivia is capable of manifesting the complex depth and presence that has made Priscilla Presley an icon in her own right. She’s an extremely talented young actor and the perfect counterpoint to Austin’s Elvis,” Baz told Deadline in a statement.
