Avan Jogia might just be one step closer to being your Aladdin, after auditioning for the role for Disney’s live action film.
The 25-year-old actor, who you know best from Victorious, has sent in an audition tape in which he sings a song from the movie and now director Guy Ritchie is considering him for the role, according to TMZ.
“I just heard about the attack at Ariana’s concert. This is truly awful,” Victoria tweeted. “I’m sending my deepest condolences & praying for every one affected.”
Avan wrote, “Today words fail me. #Manchester”

Ariana Grande took to Twitter last night to call for a proper Victorious finale (since we all know we didn’t get one!) and we are on board — and we aren’t the only ones.
“You’re a legend & Victorious needs a finale @danwarp CC: @VictoriaJustice @LizGillies @MattBennett @LeonThomas @AvanJogia @DaniellaMonet,” Ariana‘s tweet read.
It’s no surprise her words whipped her cast members into a frenzy; the Victorious cast has been outspoken about staying close and supporting one another ever since the show.
Victoria Justice and Avan Jogia reunited once again for the premiere their new film, The Outcasts in Los Angeles.
Since we’re all massive Victorious fans here, while Vic and Avan were promoting the film and their characters’ relationship status — they spilled that there was a Beck and Tori kiss that we never got to see on the show!
Apparently there was another major kiss (besides the pilot) that never made it to air.
“Fans never got to see it, cause [show creator] Dan [Schneider] made the choice to edit that out and go a different direction,” Victoria shared. Um, we NEED to see this!
The two real life friends and former Victorious stars will be back on screen together in their new movie, The Outcasts — and the trailer is finally out!
After falling victim to a humiliating prank by the high school queen bee, Jodi (Justice) and her best friend Mindy (Eden Sher) plot their revenge by uniting all of the school’s outcasts to overthrow the cruel reign of the popular clique once and for all.
But in a tale of “be careful what you wish for,” a taste of power gets the best of all of them, nearly ruining Jodi and Mindy’s friendship and threatening to sabotage Jodi’s budding romance with Dave (Jogia).
Here’s the summary for Where Hands Touch: “Leyna, daughter of a white German mother and a black father, meets Lutz, the son of a prominent SS officer, and a member of the Hitler Youth. They fall helplessly in love, putting their lives at risk as all around them the persecution of Jews and those deemed ‘non-pure’ slowly unfolds.
Does their love stand a chance amidst violence and hatred?”
Both Amandla and director Amma Asante have defended the project, which is based on historical facts.
“It has been a passion of mine to tell this story for many years – to shine a light on the existence of German children of color who were forced to grow up under Hitler’s rule, labelled as ‘Rhineland bastards,’” Amma shared. “Completing this film brings together everything I am as filmmaker.”
Amandla added on her Instagram with the pic: “This film isn’t simply a love story, but rather a portrayal of human truth in a world of atrocious violence created by a dictator that children are forced to navigate.”
The film is set to later this year.
Amandla, along with Avan Jogia and Kristina Bazan, is pictured at the premiere of Kenzo‘s new film, Music is My Mistress, in Los Angeles this week.
