Charles had to drop out of the film because of scheduling conflicts with Riverdale.
The Netflix movie follows an LA girl, unlucky in love, falls for an East Coast guy on a dating app and decides to surprise him for Christmas, only to discover that she’s been catfished. But the object of her affection actually lives in the same town, and the guy who duped her offers to set them up IF she pretends to be his own girlfriend for the holidays.
It was just revealed that the Netflix series is coming back for a second season.
Star Maitreyi Ramakrishnan shared the news with her cast mates in a funny new Zoom call video.
Every time someone new hopped on the call, they all commented on Maitreyi‘s new bangs.
“NHIE SEASON TWO!🧡 There are so many more important things than my bangs😅🎉 Can’t believe this is happening you guys. Season two here we come🧡,” she captioned the video on Instagram.
Never Have I Ever is a coming-of-age comedy about the complicated life of a modern-day first-generation Indian American teenage girl, Devi, who is an overachieving high school sophomore who has a short fuse that gets her into difficult situations.
Luke co-wrote the movie with Nick Simon, and shared that the title is part of the joke, and not just a temporary title.
“Until a distributor buys it and takes it away,†he told Vanity Fair. “That was one of the recurring jokes we had with it. This group of actors couldn’t name their own movie. So it is right now called The Untitled Horror Movie.â€
“The horror comedy is about a group of needy and desperate young stars from a once-popular TV series who learn, via video conference, that their show has just been canceled,” Vanity Fair says of the synopsis. “Fearing obscurity, they decide to stay in the spotlight by making a quickie horror film—but while shooting it, they perform a ritual that accidentally invokes an actual demonic spirit. Mayhem follows.”
Each of the actors did everything on their own, including makeup, camera set up, lighting, and more. Everything was filmed and done remotely, and it was all shot in one week!
While reading the tweets, there was an overwhelming response of fans being more attracted to Jaren‘s Ben Gross than Darren‘s Paxton Hall-Yoshida.
“I’m going to be doing crazy crunches before season two to try and get my title back,” Darren jokingly said.
They also dished about people binging the show in quarantine.
“I can’t do anything without thinking about Paxton, he’s changed my life. You know, it’s crazy right now because I feel like the show would have obviously done well without the quarantine, but being in quarantine, people have watched it so much more attentively,” Darren said.
“It’s great, I think, being a source of joy during quarantine, and how many people [are] able to watch a show they can really relate to and put a smile on their face and watch it as many times as they want,” Jaren added.
The new series is already number one on the streaming service’s Top 10 and we have a hot new photo shoot with Darren (aka Paxton Hall-Yoshida) to share with all of you.
Photographer Brad Everett Young shot with Darren for the #DreamLoudOfficial campaign to help save the Art & Music programs in schools. The photo shoot was completed before everyone went into lockdown and it’s being released now.
