Greyson Chance Releases Most Personal Song 'Low' - Stream & Lyrics

Greyson Chance Releases Most Personal Song 'Low' - Stream & Lyrics

Greyson Chance has dropped his brand new single “Low”!

The 20-year-old singer teased that he was “excited/nervous/emotional/giddy” ahead of the release.

“Low is the most personal song I have ever written,” he said about the song. “I think an overall summary of the song’s meaning can be found within the lyric, ‘I think I’m ready to hear I love you’. Even at my mere twenty-years, I have noticed a tendency within myself to continuously runaway from relationships; when it seems as if a relationship is beginning to solidify itself, I have an inherent instinct to leave.”

“This song is about my recognition of that tendency, in addition to the emptiness that I felt when I made such realization,” Greyson continued. “Low is a reflection of the hearts that I have broken and how, even though I might have appeared “unaffected” by certain breakups at the time, a resounding impact was left on me days, weeks, months, and years after the initial ending. Yet, the mentioned lyric above provides some hope; for though I fucked up, and fucked up a lot, I now find myself within a position where I feel ready to be loved and to love someone back.”

Greyson Chance Publicly Comes Out As Gay; Writes Inspiring Message About It

Greyson Chance Publicly Comes Out As Gay; Writes Inspiring Message About It

Greyson Chance has officially come out as gay over social media today.

The “Seasons” singer wrote an inspiring message about his choice to tell everyone now versus earlier and how it’s changed him for the better.

“The decision to write this came after I received a message from a brave individual. Such message inspired me to shed light on an aspect of my private life which I have kept distant from my career in music,” he starts off on Instagram.

“I came to fully recognize that I was gay when I was sixteen. I decided not to publicize my sexuality largely due to a matter of privacy, as I was still trying to find comfort and confidence within my own skin,” Greyson writes. “Further, I always found conversations regarding music, politics, art, books – and the greatness of Nas’ catalog – to be far more interesting than what type of guy I was into. This is still true today.”

He continues, “While this message is most definitely overdue, I encourage anyone who is navigating their sexuality to devote as much time as they need to the process of finding self-confidence, self-acceptance, and self-love. Hell, for me, it took years to write this message. Nevertheless, I figured now was the time to let a few more friends know that I am happy, I am here for you, and I am proud of who I am.”

So happy for Greyson!
