Rose McIver & Robert Buckley Weigh In on If Liv & Major End Up Together on 'iZombie' Series Finale

As we read earlier, all our questions will be answered in the series finale of iZombie – but does that mean our Liv and Major one will to?

Do the once engaged couple end up together? Rose McIver and Robert Buckley hinted in a recent interview with The Mary Sue that maybe they do.

“I want it to work,” Robert shared about the couple.

Rose added, “I’ll settle for Major. We’ve already seen what we look like as an old married couple…I think it makes you know each other that much better. You don’t really know somebody when you think they’re perfect.”

Both shared that the two have been through a lot together and apart over the course of five seasons.

“I think there’s a mutual respect, and understanding, that neither of us had it quite right,” Rose shared. “Liv had to see where Major was coming from … there’s a definite respect for each other.”

Rob added, “We have the same goal with different executions … we’re both just trying to protect people.”

“We’ve forgiven each other, but you don’t forget all the difficulty that you’ve gone through … it’s a very complicated thing,” Rose continued. “I champion them as a relationship, in the end, because I think they know the textures of each other, and how they show grief together … it’s not smooth sailing; it’s a journey that they’re on.”

'iZombie's Series Finale Will Have No Cliffhangers

The series finale of iZombie is tonight and we’re incredibly emotional about it.

Showrunner Rob Thomas revealed to Variety that the show will wrap up everything in a neat little bow by the time the hour is up.

“There will be no cliffhangers,” he says. “For the first time in my career, I know that this show is going to be over at the end of the season. It is in a lovely bow at the end of the season. We will answer all of the big, long-term arc questions. You’ll get answers to just about everything before the season ends.”

Rob added that the biggest question of all – does Liv get the cure or does she stay a zombie – gets answered.

“You will know the fate of the city. If you’re wondering whether Liv will end the season alive, dead or zombie, that will be answered,” he adds. “A big question [we have] is: if Liv has the opportunity to be human or zombie, what would she choose? And, what would the 10,000+ zombies in Seattle choose now that they’ve spent years as a zombie?”

“For many of the people who came to the city because they were dying of some disease, they don’t want to be turned back to being a human.”

iZombie airs TONIGHT, August 1st @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
