The Vamps are finally back with their brand new album Cherry Blossom!

The guys – Connor Ball, Tristan Evans, James McVey and Bradley Simpson – debuted their first album in over two years on Friday (October 16).

The Vamps‘ last release was the Day Edition of their Night & Day album, which came out in July 2018.

“We had a lot of time to soul search, but also as musicians we had time to go and listen to a variety of different albums and just enjoy music,” James said of the album. “We ended scrapping all of the first batch of songs and starting again.”

“When you’re on tour it’s very reactive and you’re in the moment, so you’re not necessarily really deep-diving into your relationships as a band,” Brad said. “We got to a point where we needed to stop so that we knew what we wanted to do next. Every crossroads that we’d come to –the end of a tour or the end of an album cycle –it was like ‘what are we going to do next?’”

“Fans want more context to music now, they want more subtext to it,” Bradley continued. “You’re doing them a disservice not to evolve. To not be authentic. The idea is to bring them on a journey with us, as they grow up too. We’re writing about stuff we haven’t necessarily touched on before.”

“We’d be lying if we said we didn’t want it to go out into the world and be received positively,” he added about their hopes for the album. “But ultimately, we love it so much, and that feeling of self-fulfillment is so exciting. These are songs that really touch on parts of our lives.”

The Vamps are giving fans another taste of their upcoming album Cherry Blossom!

The guys – Tristan Evans, Connor Ball, James McVey and Bradley Simpson – dropped the new track “Chemicals,” their second release from the LP.

“The love on Married In Vegas so far has been amazing, we wanted to share a bit more of Cherry Blossom with you. Chemicals from Cherry Blossom available from midnight 🌸,” they wrote on Instagram earlier in the week.

“‘Chemicals’ is a really important track for us, it’s essentially the DNA of the album and so a real indicator of what the Cherry Blossom sound is,” Bradley said in a statement. “The response to ‘Married in Vegas‘ has been incredible so far, we can’t wait to share more of this chapter of the band with you all ahead of the album’s release in October.”

In case you missed it, The Vamps opened up about their break from music and the inspiration behind the new album!

The Vamps are dishing on their upcoming new album Cherry Blossom!

The guys – James McVey, Brad Simpson, Tristan Evans and Connor Ball – opened up about finishing the album in quarantine, taking a break and more in their new feature with Euphoria Magazine.

“It was really interesting because we set up home studios, so when COVID-19 and isolation started, we were halfway through the making of this album, and we were forced to finish it in a nice way individually in our homes,” Tristan told the mag. “We’d send parts to each other’s houses like, Brad would do vocals, then send to James, who then put down some guitar. It was a really cool, really nice way of doing it.”

“I think it’s really important in every sort of aspect of life to sometimes have moments of contemplation, to take a step away and reflect on what you’ve done,” James shared about taking time off. “That helps to put more solidly in your mind where you want to go, and I think for a while we were sort of just doing things and we were loving it, but I don’t feel like towards the end, we had, like, a sense of direction. So that’s why I think taking some time away was important for us to galvanize our thoughts and feelings, and determine what we wanted to put into a new album.”

“More often than not, we’ll go and play shows in countries and not get the chance to absorb the culture. I think Japan was a moment where it was right,” Brad said about the inspiration for the album. “It was at the end of the world tour, I think we were all pretty tired, and staying out there, and having a no interruptions moment was really big. It was nice to immerse in the country, and I think that’s where the idea of Cherry Blossom came from. It stands for rebirth and renewal, the beginning of something new.”

The Vamps are back with new music!!

The guys – Brad Simpson, Connor Ball, Tristan Evans and James McVey – just released their brand new song “Married In Vegas,” as well as the music video.

“On the day we handed the album in I went on a Zoom call with Lostboy,” Brad says of the new song. “We had a few beers and then four hours later ‘Married in Vegas’ was birthed.”

“I was playing Playstation with my mates and it was about 11pm and I was pretty drunk too actually. Then Brad FaceTimed me and he was like ‘I’ve just written this song!’” James added. “I love moments like that because even when you think something’s done it can still change at the last minute. They jumped on a zoom with Lostboy the next morning to finish the song.’”

“Married In Vegas” was created during quarantine by Brad with producer Lostboy, and is the lead single off of their upcoming album Cherry Blossom. We can’t wait to hear more new music!!
