When a series ends, you always hear stories of cast and crew taking mementos from the set — and Joey Bragg did the same, stealing one of his favorite pieces from the prop department.
So which item from the Rooney house in Wisconsin did Joey take for his own home?
“That little artichoke candle holder beside the couch in every episode,” he reveals to JJJ. “I broke that countless times forcing someone to glue it back together.”
Joey adds, jokingly, “Honestly, it’s set decorator’s fault for choosing a ceramic artichoke. Think of all the fragile hang-y off bits. Could have had a sturdy pineapple candle holder that had no break prone pieces.”
And where’s that artichoke candle holder now? At Joey’s home of course and “I’ve broken it ?ve times since wrap.”
From the first moment Willow (Jessica Marie Garcia) got the crushies over Joey (Joey Bragg) on Liv and Maddie, we were hooked, and when they finally had their first date, we were throwing a party.
Joey spoke to JJJ about the couple’s flirty relationship throughout the series and is making us feel all the feels.
“The Willow/Joey storyline was always my favorite,” he says, “not just because I got to spend the week with Jessica Marie Garcia but because everyone has been in that awkward position before.”
Joey adds about the importance of their relationship and the storyline: “Whether you are the Joey or the Willow you know how hard it can be, so getting to see Joey and Willow get together in the end was a great message.”
“What was the message you ask? Never give up, never go down.”
With the show ending in just a few days, we don’t know if they’ll end up together during it, but Joey has hope for the couple.
“Willow and Joey are meant to be. They’ll find each other eventually,” he says. “They are still so young. Look out for a movie coming out in ten years putting the bow on top of Jillow.”
The Liv & Maddie series finale airs Friday, March 24.
For as long as we can remember, Liv and Maddie‘s Joey Rooney has only ever worn cats on his clothes.
They were on his shirts, his socks, even his boxers. Anyone remember the Halloween episode and we wore a giant cat head and Joey t-shirt?!
But, where did the cat obsession actually come from? Joey Bragg revealed all!
“Joey and Joey are one in the same. Joey Rooney was the more fun, optimistic, and bright version of me,” he explains to JJJ of his two Joey personas.
“My love of all things cat and kitty attire took over pretty quickly. I came to work in the occasional cat shirt and all of a sudden that was all Joey Rooney wore,” Joey adds.
He jokes later, “I grew up with no less than three cats at one time. I was raised by them. Wasn’t until I was a junior in high school that I realized I wasn’t a feline myself.”
So, there you go! That’s where his cat obsession came from.
“Having my character do stand up was something we always wanted, and it was definitely my favorite episode to shoot,” Joey dished. “We treated the stand up like a comedy special, and I had creative freedom to write as much as I wanted. I wrote about 10 minutes of material, and we filmed it in one or two takes.”
In the ep, Joey will have the support of sister Maddie (Dove Cameron).
Meanwhile, Parker (Tenzing Norgay Trainor) also finds himself in a predicament when he isn’t sure if he’s asked his fellow classmate to be his partner in a science competition or his date to a school dance.
