Taylor Swift was the victim of a joke made by her ex-boyfriend John Mayer during his monologue for his hosting gig on The Late Late Show on Friday (February 6) in Los Angeles.
The 37-year-old singer was talking about how he will attend the Grammys this weekend and then joked about how Taylor will react to him being there.
“You can see me at the Grammys doing what I do best, being avoided by Taylor Swift,” he said. He then jokingly added, “That won’t make the internet at all.”
If you didn’t know, Taylor and John dated years ago and she wrote the song “Dear John” about him. Also, his on-again girlfriend Katy Perry is in a long-rumored feud with the pop star. Ironically, the main guest on the episode that evening happened to be Taylor‘s good friend Ed Sheeran!

Katy Perry snaps a super cute photo with her boyfriend John Mayer while partying the night away after her amazing 2015 Super Bowl Halftime Show performance on Sunday (February 1) in Glendale, Ariz.
The 30-year-old singer’s halftime collaborator Missy Elliott is also pictured in the photo, which she shared on social media.
“After party Super Bowl with @johnmayor @katyperry,” she captioned the pic.

The 30-year-old “Dark Horse” singer and John, 37, were seen displaying some PDA during a date night on Saturday (January 10) at the Chateau Marmont in West Hollywood, Calif.
Katy was seen hanging out with her BFF Allison Williams before John and her pal’s fiance Ricky Van Veen showed up to make it a double date.
Katy and John shared a kiss when he arrived and they were seen holding hands at their table. When they left around 11:15pm, the couple held hands in the lobby before leaving.

Katy Perry hasn’t been seen out in public with her ex-boyfriend John Mayer in nearly a year, but that all changed this weekend, according to People.
The 30-year-old “Dark Horse” singer and John, 37, were spotted in Beverly Hills together, though it’s not clear if their romance has been rekindled.
“They actually buried the hatchet a while back, and they are friends,” a source said. “It’s not a surprise they would see each other socially. She’s focused on her career and making herself happy.”
Katy was most recently linked to DJ and music producer Diplo.

That same night, the 24-year-old singer’s ex-boyfriend John Mayer was seen exiting the premises in a different car. Our sources believe they didn’t sit together, but funny coincidence that they wound up there on the same night!
“Taylor was with Lily Aldridge and never saw Mr. Mayer at Chateau Marmont,” Tay‘s rep told E! News.
Taylor and John famously dated back in late 2009 through early 2010, which inspired her song “Dear John,” off her Speak Now record. John then reportedly wrote his 2013 track “Paper Doll” about their relationship.
