Right now, the actress who plays Caroline Forbes is only scheduled to be in the premiere episode, but showrunner Julie Plec says that there could be more, and that her interaction with Klaus will be important to his character and the ship.
“Caroline is the headmistress of Klaus’ daughter’s school, so they are going to have an interaction at some point,” she shared with THR. “She has a perspective for him and the way that he’s living his life right now.”
And it looks like Joseph Morgan is looking forward to it: “I suspected there might be something more to this story. There’s always been … a feeling of something unresolved there.”
The Originals will return for its’ final season in 2018 on The CW.
To top things off, showrunner Julie Plec is teasing some upcoming drama between Klaus (Joseph Morgan) and Caroline (Candice King) in the new season.
“She’s just got so much life in her. She just brings the spirits up of people around her. There’s just something great about watching Caroline call Klaus on his s**t,” Julie told EW during Comic-Con.
The Originals made the big announcement yesterday that the show would be ending with season five, and fans had a ton of mixed feelings about it all.
“Know that in a show about an immortal family who believes in ‘Always and Forever’, it’s never really the end of the story,” showrunner Julie Plec shared in her message to the fans.
Moments after, star Joseph Morgan shared his own touching message with the legions of fans and summed our feelings up perfectly.
“#TheOriginalsS5 will be our last,” he wrote on Twitter. “Thanks for your undying support & I hope you’ll keep the darkest corner of your heart reserved for us ;)”
Joseph Morgan is laughing off all the reports that he was cast in Fox’s upcoming X-Men series Gifted.
The mistake was made when a photo was posted of the “cast” and Joseph was in it because he happened to attend the table read.
“It was funny to see that unfold and to answer so many freaked-out phone calls,” Joseph told MTV.com. “I just did it as a favor to Bryan Singer and to Fox, coming in and reading. I met Bryan before, and I just felt like it would be a fun way to be involved in that world. I had no idea that [executive producer Lauren Shuler Donner] was going to take a photo and say, ‘Hey, this is the cast!’ It’s a great project, but obviously I’m busy. It was pretty funny to see all of the articles and then the retractions.”
Joseph is a big fan of the comics though. He added, “That’s why I wanted to at least go in and help out at the table read. But we’ll see what it will lead to.”
Speaking with MTV, Joseph Morgan gave us so many questions about that moment that we’d love to have answered right now.
“Does [the letter] mean he’s safe? Because he’s obviously written the letter some time in the future, so does that mean he survives the whole season?” he asked.
“Or is he writing it at some point in Season 4? The more you open that Pandora’s box, the harder it is to close it,” Joseph said.
Klaus Mikaelson is many, many things, but the one thing that Joseph Morgan hopes fans get really excited about this season is his relationship with daughter Hope.
“That’s been the most exciting part of the season for me, the most fun for me to play,” he revealed in a new interview. “The idea of this character meeting his daughter really for the first time, since she’s a speaking, thinking person now as opposed to a baby.”
Hope will be played by cutie Summer Fontana in the new season, which kicks off tomorrow.
Another thing that Joseph knows fans will love? “The introduction of the evil force, the Big Bad of the whole season, which happens in Episode 4, which is going to set the tone of the season.”
He added, “The last two minutes of Episode 4 are incredibly exciting. It’ll be interesting to see what people think after so much time away.”
