Ludi Lin is about to have an exciting year!

The 33-year-old Power Rangers actor is starring in the just released trailer for the upcoming Mortal Kombat movie.

Ludi stars as Liu Kang in the film adaptation, which centers on MMA fighter Cole Young, accustomed to taking a beating for money, is unaware of his heritage—or why Outworld’s Emperor Shang Tsung has sent his best warrior, Sub-Zero, an otherworldly Cryomancer, to hunt Cole down. Fearing for his family’s safety, Cole goes in search of Sonya Blade at the direction of Jax, a Special Forces Major who bears the same strange dragon marking Cole was born with.

Soon, he finds himself at the temple of Lord Raiden, an Elder God and the protector of Earthrealm, who grants sanctuary to those who bear the mark. Here, Cole trains with experienced warriors Liu Kang, Kung Lao and rogue mercenary Kano, as he prepares to stand with Earth’s greatest champions against the enemies of Outworld in a high stakes battle for the universe. But will Cole be pushed hard enough to unlock his arcana—the immense power from within his soul—in time to save not only his family, but to stop Outworld once and for all?

It was also just announced that Ludi has joined the cast of the upcoming Kung Fu reboot on The CW, according to Deadline.

He will play Kerwin, heir to the billionaire Tan family fortune. He is a “dashing, handsome, physically fit, and impossibly charismatic”. He puts on a suave playboy act to the world but is driven by a deep hurt and antipathy towards his father. An erotically charged partnership with Zhilan will provide Kerwin with just the path to revenge (and vindication) he has been waiting for.”

Kung Fu will premiere midseason on the network and follows a young Chinese American woman, Nicky Shen (Olivia Liang), who encounters a quarter life crisis which causes her to drop out of college and go on a life-changing journey to an isolated monastery in China. But when she returns to San Francisco, she finds her hometown is overrun with crime and corruption and her own parents Jin (Tzi Ma) and Mei-Li (Kheng Hua Tan) are at the mercy of a powerful Triad.

Nicky will rely on her tech-savvy sister Althea (Shannon Dang) and her fiancé Dennis (Tony Chung), pre-med brother Ryan (Jon Prasida), Assistant District Attorney and ex-boyfriend Evan (Gavin Stenhouse), and new love interest Henry (Eddie Liu) as well as her martial arts skills and Shaolin values to protect her community and bring criminals to justice…all while searching for the ruthless assassin who killed her Shaolin mentor Pei-Ling (Vanessa Kai) and is now targeting her.

Ludi Lin just landed an exciting new role!

You may remember Ludi as the Black Power Ranger in the reboot of the Power Rangers film, out earlier in the year. Now, he’ll be co-starring in DC’s Aquaman movie. Ludi will join the movie in the role of Murk, leader of the army in Atlantis, as well as Aquaman’s trusted ally, Deadline reports. Jason Momoa is playing the role of Aquaman in the 2018 movie.

Amber Heard, Patrick Wilson, Nicole Kidman, Willem Dafoe, Dolph Lundgren, Yahya Abdul-Mateen, and Temuera Morrison also star in the film. The film will hit theaters on December 21, 2018.

The actress and her Power Rangers castmates — Dacre Montgomery, RJ Cyler, Naomi Scott and Ludi Lin — kicked off a fun assembly at the 116th Elementary School in Los Angeles, where they donated a ton of school supplies.

During the visit, Ludi, Becky, RJ, Naomi and Dacre dished about the school supplies that they couldn’t live without when they were in school and helped all the kids unleash their super powers.

Becky also got to sing her song, “Shower” while RJ was spotted dabbing with just about everyone.

Later on, the Power Rangers cast headed to Children’s Hospital Los Angeles for a special screening of their new film and met with teen patients at CHLA’s Teen Lounge, where they also dropped off posters and action figures from the flick.

The Power Rangers have come together to promote the new film!

Stars Becky G, Dacre Montgomery, Naomi Scott, RJ Cyler, and Ludi Lin all stopped by the AOL Build Series studios on Monday (March 20) in New York City.

The film follows five ordinary teens who must become something extraordinary when they learn that their small town of Angel Grove – and the world – is on the verge of being obliterated by an alien threat.

Chosen by destiny, our heroes quickly discover they are the only ones who can save the planet. But to do so, they will have to overcome their real-life issues and before it’s too late, band together as the Power Rangers.

The Power Rangers movie is just five days away, and it’s then we’ll all get to see the amazing fight sequences, but training for those scenes wasn’t easy at all.

Pink Ranger Naomi Scott opened up about the training they all had to go through for the film.

“We had three weeks training before we started filming and there were muscles that I didn’t even realize I had that would ache,” she shared. “It was like a crash course.”

Naomi added about their stunt doubles, who were the instructors for it all: “Our stunt doubles are just incredible; some of the things that they have to do, you’re just like, ‘You are just amazing!’ And they’re not just there to be our stunt doubles, they’re there to keep us safe, they’re there to teach us choreography.”

“I think what we really enjoyed specifically was when we had to do a whole fight sequence’, she continued. ‘It’s almost like a dance, it’s like a 2-3 minute dance.”
