Meanwhile, the Stitchers cast — Ritesh Rajan, Emma Ishta and Kyle Harris — were spotted out at the Fandango opening night party after their panel and autograph signing events during 2017 Comic Con.

The three stars, plus Harry Shum Jr, Isaiah Mustafa, Dominic Sherwood, and Alberto Rosende hit up the event, teasing the things to come on the show.

EP and showrunner Todd Slavkin dished on the panel that season three would be looking at “City of Fallen Angels” in The Mortal Instruments book series for the storylines.

“‘City of Fallen Angels’ is what season 3 is all about,” he shared.

“If you’ve read the books then we want you to also be surprised and go on a journey,” he adds. “It’s built in that there will be devastation from the books… It leads to a nice mixture of adaptation and newness.”

The Shadowhunters cast is already having a blast at Comic-Con — and it’s only Thursday (July 20)!

Katherine McNamara, Dominic Sherwood, Alberto Rosende, Isaiah Mustafa, Emeraude Toubia, Harry Shum Jr and Matthew Daddario stopped by SiriusXM’s Entertainment Weekly Radio broadcast and dished out some secrets about the upcoming episodes on the Freeform series — especially about Sebastian and Jonathan.

Later on, the entire cast spoke more about Jonathan, where Kat revealed that it will “change everything.”

Let’s all be real here — Jace Wayland and Alec Lightwood have one of the best relationships in TV history. Yes? Yes.

Shadowhunters star Dominic Sherwood dished on some big moments coming up for the two in the new episodes of the show.

“Jace and Alec, in my opinion, have one of the best relationships on the show because it is a bond that is beyond love or physical attraction or friendship or whatever,” he shared. “It’s kind of a soul bond.”

Dominic adds that he and Matthew Daddario have tried to embody the true meaning of soulmates into Jace and Alec’s relationship.

“They don’t necessarily have to say anything, they feel it through each other, and that can be hugely positive, but it can also be heartbreaking at times,” he says. “You’ll see it later on. That relationship and that bond ends up being wonderful and hugely negative at the same time.”

Harry Shum Jr. is dishing on all things Shadowhunters with JJJ.

We recently caught up with him about that crazy Magnus/Valentine body swap last week.

Of course, we also had to throw in a question about #Malec for good measure.

JJJ: How did you prepare to take on Valentine’s personality?

Harry Shum Jr.: Lots of videos and hiding in Alan’s room taking notes tracking all his movements.

JJJ: Did you have a sore throat by the end of filming? Did you have to treat your throat tenderly/specially?

HSJ: Went through 5 bottles of honey and pounds of ginger for the duration of the shoot.

JJJ: Did you run your version of Valentine by Alan and did he correct anything? Or vice-versa?

HSJ: We had a meeting with the director (Billie Woodruff) before we started the episode to capture the tone but we trusted each other to take good care of our characters.

Matthew Daddario plays one of our favorite characters on television right now – Shadowhunters‘ Alec Lightwood.

The actor talked with Out magazine about how playing the gay character helped him grow.

“Alec is the best,” he admits. “He cares about others more than himself, and he’s learned how to care for himself…but he’s young.”

Matthew also talked about the consent debate with Magnus and Alec, which sparked on Twitter after in one episode, Alec pushes Magnus into a room before they finally consummate their relationship.

“People read into things and are sometimes very capable of understanding what the writers were thinking,” he says. “Other times, they don’t quite get it right. But it’s largely been positive.”

Malec is obviously everyone’s favorite ship on Shadowhunters and stars Matthew Daddario and Harry Shum, Jr. say that the upcoming season 2B is going to be the best of them.

“The Malec relationship is on a constant upward trend I think, and I believe that’s how it should be,” Matthew shared in a new interview.

He adds, “That doesn’t mean necessarily that everything’s going to be perfect all the time because you need to grow, and to grow you need these kind of little errors so you guys can adapt and learn how to work with each other, and I think that we’re going to see some of that in the second half of the season.”

“I think that what we all wanted to see was them sharing experiences together,” Harry says, “and those experiences are what’s going to make them stronger.”

What you’re going to see in the upcoming episodes is Malec’s relationship being as realistic as possible.

“We’re going to see a lot more of that and them getting to do more activities together that would cause some riff in one side or the other being kind of pissed off at each other, but there [are] going to be some great, delightful moments as well,” Harry added.

“I know the fans don’t want them to have any hurtful moments at all, but the reality is, that’s life. So yeah, they’re going to have to get through that.”
