The younger brother to Elijah (Daniel Gillies) and Klaus (Joseph Morgan) will be seen during the upcoming season two in flashback sequences.

Rumors surrounded his return after a press release noted that Nate, 30, would only be attending Barcelona’s BloodyNightCon due to “work commitments with The Originals” (via TVLine).

The 35-year-old actor was joined by his co-stars Zach Roerig, Michael Trevino, and Malese Jow, the latter of whom even got a proposal during the event!

“We will definitely see Ian Somerhalder and Kat Graham on the show,” Executive Producer Julie Plec confirmed to EW after their characters’ deaths. “I mean, there’s a million different ways that you can do that. But as far as in what context – how, why, and where? – that’s part of the mystery.”
She also addressed rumors that the show was ending after next season. “No. It’s not on our radar yet,” Julie said. “You could ask 10 different people that question and you’d get 10 different answers, in terms of how long the life of the show is. Warner Bros. would say, ’17 seasons!’ And I think I would say, ‘Seven!’ (Laughs) Presumably we’ll land somewhere closer to my wishes or theirs, depending on the circumstances.”

The 35-year-old actor was joined by his former The Vampire Diaries co-stars Nathaniel Buzolic and Malese Jow. The trio were all in attendance at a press conference the day before.
“Insane jet lag… thinking of you Brazil-happy to be in Lovely Spain-see you again in a bit more than a week again Brazil -then I’ll be missing you Spain. Ahhh! So so many beautiful places and people and creatures and conversations! Why do we ruin our world and each other! I think ill sleep on that,” Ian wrote on his Instagram account that weekend.

Get your first official look at Nathaniel Buzolic as David Lassiter in the upcoming Supernatural spin-off Bloodlines!
In the backdoor pilot, Sam (Jared Padalecki) and Dean (Jensen Ackles) investigate a case in Chicago, where they discover that various mafia-esque monster families are, unknown to humans, running the underbelly of Chicago.
One is a family of shapeshifters run by Margo Lassiter (guest stars Danielle Savre), whose leadership is thrown into question when her brother David returns home. The other reigning family in town is made up of werewolves, lead by Julian Duval (guest star Sean Faris).
While in Chicago, Sam and Dean meet Ennis (guest star Lucien Laviscount), a man with a personal vendetta against the monsters. The Winchesters warn Ennis about heading into the hunter lifestyle, but Ennis refuses to listen and starts down a dangerous path.
“Supernatural: Bloodlines” airs Tuesday, April 29 @ 9PM on The CW. Watch the promo (via EW) below!

Nate will play David Hayden, a shapeshifter from one of the ruling monster families who’s been living as a human, having given up the monster life years ago.
Supernatural: Tribes is being described as a “sweeping drama about the various mafia-esque monster families that unknowingly-to-humans ‘run’ the underbelly of Chicago and who are being tracked by a newly-minted Hunter who’s trying to stop them and rid Chicago of anything or anyone supernatural.”
