Shawn Mendes is dishing on his past “beef” with Justin Bieber.

During a recent going undercover video with GQ, the 22-year-old musician responded to a question, “I thought they weren’t friends at one point, was that true?”

“Justin and I were never enemies. We were maybe not friends. I mean, yeah, I guess I wasn’t texting and being like, ‘Yo, how you doing today?’” Shawn said. “But we were never enemies, absolutely, and that’s kind of something that people maybe might’ve turned it into at some point.”

“When he made the video and he was like, ‘Who’s Shawn Mendes?’ he said he really genuinely didn’t know who I was and I believed him, so whatever,” he continued. “Maybe he did and he was trying to bug me either way. But I mean, honestly, I really love him. He’s been so sweet and super gracious, and giving with his advice and with his energy, so he’s a good friend.”

Just last month, Shawn opened up about how his “Monster” collab came about with Justin.

Shawn Mendes reveals that Camila Cabello has allowed him be more vulnerable.

The 22-year-old Wonder musician opened up recently on Dax Shepard‘s Armchair Expert podcast about his girlfriend helping him with his feelings.

“I think people are really quick to just say, ‘Well, he’s an artist so he gets a pass to be vulnerable and a pass to cry but most men shouldn’t,’” Shawn said. “Guys need to just be vulnerable. We need to cry. Stop thinking this is being brave and strong and start thinking is the opposite, actually. We’re holding in these emotions and not crying and being assholes. Nothing about that is nice.”

“I’m in a relationship where my girlfriend is like, ‘We’re going to get in bed and you’re going to put your head on my chest and you’re going to cry into my chest. You’re going to tell me how you feel because if you don’t do that you’re just going to be an asshole for the next week and I’m not going to deal with that s—,’” he added. “I’m just lucky to be in a relationship that’s for it.”

Shawn Mendes has a big reason to celebrate – he has another number one album!

The 22-year-old’s latest LP Wonder has debuted on the top of the Billboard 200 albums chart.

This is the fourth time that Shawn has debuted at the top of the chart. He’s now had all four of his albums, Handwritten, Illumiate, Shawn Mendes and Wonder debut at No 1!

It’s also a history making feat for the young musician. Shawn has now joined the late Elvis Presley and his friend Justin Bieber in being the only male artists to have four albums debut at the top of the chart by the age of 22.

The week before, Shawn released a deluxe edition of Wonder, which included his Christmas duet, “The Christmas Song,” with girlfriend Camila Cabello, and his cover of “Can’t Take My Eyes Off You” from his BBC Radio 1 Live Lounge session.

Sam Smith is sending their love to Shawn Mendes!

On Thursday night (December 10), the iHeartRadio Jingle Ball concert aired on The CW, and Shawn introduced Sam‘s performance.

During his introduction, he called Sam a “he,” which is the wrong pronouns for Sam, who goes by they/them.

The next morning (December 11), Shawn posted a public apology on his Instagram story.

“Oh @samsmith I’m so sorry for referring to you as a ‘he’ for you jingle ball introduction,” Shawn wrote. “It absolutely slipped my mind. Wont happen again..Sending you so much love! Also you absolutely are one of the funniest people I’ve ever met! ❤️❤️”

Sam responded a couple of hours later, writing, “We’re all learning together 🤍🤍 Happy holidays, all my love xx”

If you didn’t know, both Shawn and Sam are both part of the Universal Music Group family – Shawn is on Island Records, while Sam is on Capitol Records UK.

Shawn Mendes and Camila Cabello‘s dog Tarzan has earned the title of director!

The cute couple just released a homemade music video for their cover of “The Christmas Song” and they say their pet pooch directed the video while at home in Florida.

“Merry christmas to you and yours 🖤#TheChristmasSong video out now. Shot by us, directed by Tarzan,” Shawn wrote on his Instagram account.

Camila wrote on her page, “Merry christmas to you and yours 🖤 #TheChristmasSong video out now. Shot by us, directed by Tarzan from our lil bubble. Every stream supports those in need through @feedingamerica! They have sectors all over the country, find out where you can donate to help out your community aka little corner of the world! We can’t change the world but we can make our corner of it a little better.”

Shawn Mendes recently spoke out about being photographed in Miami while out on walks.

The 22-year-old singer and girlfriend Camila Cabello would regularly be pictured out with her dog, carrying mugs, etc throughout quarantine in her neighborhood.

Now, in a new interview, Shawn opened up about the one paparazzo who’s always getting the photos of the couple.

“It’s this one paparazzi who’s always on the street, and this morning, he got so made at me because like this morning, sometimes… Okay, I get it, you’re just making a living like you do, you’re a paparazzi, it’s cool, but then sometimes you’re like, ‘I just want to go on a walk to have a conversation with Camila, like about life, I’m a little stressed…’” Shawn said on the Zach Sang Show.

“And then he’s taking photos of us, so every time he pulls around the corner, I turn around, and then he pulls around the other corner, and I turn around. So he keeps getting these shots of my back. So finally, he stops and rolls down his window, he’s like, ‘I’m just trying to make a living Shawn.’ And I’m like…” he added before shaking his head.

Shawn then brought up something that Daniel Radcliffe used to do.

“He was doing a movie and he wore the exact same outfit every single day on his way to shoot, and like everything, same hat, same everything,” he shared.
