Billie Eilish is opening up about her switch to blonde hair during her interview on The Ellen DeGeneres Show.
The 19-year-old Grammy winner was a surprise guest on the talk show’s episode, airing on Tuesday (May 11), and she first popped up in the virtual audience.
Ellen asked Billie about her decision to go blonde this year and the singer revealed what inspired her to make the big change.

The 19-year-old “Your Power” singer showed off her blonde hair as she dressed up like a pin-up girl.
“i love these pictures and i loved doing this shoot. do whatever you want whenever you want. f–k everything else,” she said of the new photo shoot.

Billie Eilish just released her next single “Your Power” from her upcoming album!
The 19-year-old singer dropped the song and music video on Thursday morning (April 29).
“this is one of my favorite songs i’ve ever written. i feel very vulnerable putting this one out because i hold it so close to my heart. this is about many different situations that we’ve all either witnessed or experienced. i hope this can inspire change. try not to abuse your power,” she wrote on Instagram about the song.
“Your Power” is the third song off of Billie‘s recently announced new album Happier Than Ever, which will be out this summer. It is the 12th song on the LP. See the full track list here!
Other songs already released from the album include “my future” and “Therefore I Am.”

After teasing the news the day before, Billie Eilish has revealed her new album Happier Than Ever!
The 19-year-old singer unveiled the album artwork and title, as well as the date – July 30th.
“MY NEW ALBUM ‘Happier Than Ever’ OUT JULY 30TH! this is my favorite thing i’ve ever created and i am so excited and nervous and EAGER for you to hear it. i can’t even tell you. i’ve never felt so much love for a project than i do for this one. hope you feel what i feel. alsoooo new song out thursday at 9am pt too!! pre-save/add/order nowwwww link in bio. The album cover features a blonde Billie, of course, looking up to the side, with a tear going down her face. She’s also wearing the same outfit that she wore in the teaser clip she shared on Monday.
Presumably, the title track “Happier Than Ever” is what will be released this Thursday – Can’t wait!!!

“Happier Than Ever,” she captioned the clip, of what appears to be the title and from the music video.
Billie debuted her new blonde hair in March following her Grammys wins. The new hair marked the beginning of her upcoming era, and we cannot wait for what’s to come!
She’s even been teasing us on Instagram. The night before, she wrote on her story, “tomorrow starts a new week doesn’t it?” and last week, she captioned a post, “things are comingggg”

Billie Eilish recently revealed that she was wearing a wig for weeks to hide her newly-dyed blonde hair and now she’s explaining why.
The 19-year-old singer answered fan questions during a Q&A session on Saturday (April 3) and multiple questions were about her hair.
“Does your hair feel damaged or healthy after the bleaching process?” one fan asked. Billie responded, “Honestly so healthy and I wasn’t expecting that at all. It’s actually healthier than it’s been in a longggggggg time.”
Another fan asked Billie why she hid the blonde hair. If you didn’t know, she recently revealed that she wore a wig for weeks, including at the Grammys, before debuting the blonde locks.

Billie Eilish is opening up about hiding her newly revealed blonde hair!
The 19-year-old “Therefore I Am” singer debuted her new look on Wednesday (March 19), just days after winning two more Grammys.
Billie previously said that she was going to dye her hair a new color after her documentary premiered to signify a new era.
The singer shared a new TikTok video after revealing her new hair color, and showed that she was wearing a wig. Her last TikTok video was from the end of January and was almost the same video, but a little different.
At the end of the new video, she lifts up her black and green wig a little to adjust it, then starts to laugh. In the comments, she revealed that she had been wearing a wig for “like 2 months.”
Back in February, Billie was seen out at the beach with her brother Finneas and had her head all covered up. Looks like it was to hide her hair!
While premiering her documentary a few days later, and at the Grammys earlier this week, Billie was seen wearing hats, appearing to help hide that she was wearing a wig.
