Cameron Boyce's Parents Asked That Karan Brar Be Cast In His 'Hubie Halloween' Role

If you didn’t know, Cameron Boyce was originally supposed to star in the new Netflix comedy Hubie Halloween!

Unfortunately, the late actor passed away just days before filming was set to begin on the movie.

Cameron‘s parents are now speaking out about the role and how they specifically asked Adam Sandler to cast his best friend Karan Brar in the role.

Cameron was cast in that movie and unfortunately he passed away […] he passed away like a week before he was supposed to travel to, to shoot that movie. And then Karan actually took his place in the movie,” his mom Libby told PeopleTV. “Karan is his best friend. And, you know, we did ask Adam to cast Karan because that was the only person that could be in that role that wouldn’t break us.”

Cameron‘s dad Victor also dished on his relationship with Adam.

Adam really got Cameron, you know […] his family, his wife, and his two daughters,” he said. “They all love Cameron like, like their own. And so, you know, Adam told me that he would like to dedicate the movie to Cameron. I’m like, of course, of course.”

“It’s not a surprise to me that [Cameron] and Adam clicked because Adam is just like Cameron […] they’re so real and raw and genuine that they just, they had that bond,” Victor added.

Adam recently opened up about how Cameron was actually supposed to be in the movie, but unfortunately he passed away just a few days before filming began.

“That kid was a great kid. His family is amazing. I know them from Grown Ups, he was a little kid in Grown Ups and I watched him grow up and become like a superstar,” Adam said on The Tonight Show.

“My kids worshipped him. He came to my daughter’s bat mitzvah,” Adam continued. “He came and literally signed, I mean that bat mitzvah was gigantic, it was like 400 people there, and a massive amount of kids. He signed every kid’s autograph, and everybody was freaking out over Cameron. He was just the nicest kid. He always had charities going on… It was always for charity, he didn’t care about anything else.”

His first proclamation: offer a chance at redemption to Mal, Evie, Carlos and Jay, the trouble-making offspring of Maleficent, the Evil Queen, Cruella de Vil and Jafar, who have been imprisoned on the forbidden Isle of the Lost for 20 years.

These villainous descendants are allowed into Auradon for the first time to attend prep school alongside the teenage progeny of Fairy Godmother, Cinderella, Sleeping Beauty and Mulan. Only time will tell if these evil teens follow in the footsteps of their wicked parents!
