'Cobra Kai' Gets Netflix Premiere Date!

Cobra Kai is coming to Netflix in August!

It was just announced earlier today (July 21) that the YouTube series will make it’s way to the streaming service on August 28th.

The first two seasons will be available to stream on Netflix starting on that date, and a new, third season will premiere at a later time.

Cobra Kai takes place 30 years after the events of the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament, where a now successful Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) struggles to maintain balance in his life without the guidance of Mr. Miyagi, and must face his previous adversary, down-and-out Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), who seeks redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai karate dojo.

The Karate Kid sequel series also stars Courtney Henggeler (Amanda LaRusso), Xolo Maridueña (Miguel Diaz), Tanner Buchanan (Robby Keene), Mary Mouser (Samantha LaRusso), Jacob Bertrand (Hawk), Gianni Decenzo (Demetri), Vanessa Rubio (Carmen), Peyton List (Tory) and Martin Kove (John Kreese).

The stars are getting their geek on at Comic-Con!

Louriza Tronco of Netflix’s The Order and Mary Mouser of YouTube’s Cobra Kai were among the celebs who stopped by the Pizza Hut Lounge at 2019 Comic-Con International: San Diego on Thursday (July 18) in San Diego, California.

Louriza’s The Order co-stars Devery Jacobs, Adam DiMarco, Sarah Grey, Katharine Isabelle, and Thomas Elms were also guests at the Pizza Hut Lounge.

The Order centers on Jack, a college freshman, who joins a fabled secret society called The Order, where he is thrust into a world of magic, monsters, and intrigue.

Cobra Kai takes place in the Karate Kid universe and follows the original, 1984 film’s villain, Johnny Lawrence, as he tries to earn redemption by reopening the infamous Cobra Kai dojo – a move that reignites his rivalry with the original film’s hero, Daniel LaRusso.

Xolo Mariduena Talks Season Two of 'Cobra Kai': 'It's Definitely Larger Than Season One'

Xolo Mariduena is opening up all about the new season of YouTube Original’s Cobra Kai, which debuts today.

The 17-year-old actor spoke to Slash Film about keeping up his training for the show during the hiatus and bringing new moves to the screen.

“You can definitely see a progression with every single person in season two when it comes to our ability to perform with not only martial arts, but what we’re able to accomplish on screen,” Xolo shared. “It’s definitely is larger than the first season. So again, I can’t say exactly what but there was a lot more work that was put into season two.”

Xolo also opened up about the new relationships coming to the series, especially with the introduction of Peyton List‘s Tory.

“I think we’ll see how far that relationship will go. She is definitely, now that we end season one with Sam basically being out of Miguel’s life in totality, we see Tory coming into Cobra Kai and really shake things up for not only Miguel, but a lot of the other Cobras,” he shared. “It’s definitely going to be an interesting way to test out chemistry when it comes to Tory and Miguel.”

But Miguel’s feelings for Samantha (Mary Mouser) aren’t gone either.

“Samantha definitely is the first person that he’s liked. He’s experienced so much and learned so much through her that I think just with all of those things considered, of course he’s going to have feelings for her,” Xolo adds. “As the season progresses, we’ll see that his attention is dragged somewhere else. Not necessarily at another girl, but just with other things in general.”

Cobra Kai is streaming on YouTube now.

Xolo is also pictured below at the premiere of Sprinter held at Pacific Theaters at the Grove on Tuesday night (April 23) in Los Angeles.

Peyton List Joins The Dojo in 'Cobra Kai' Season Two Trailer - Watch Now!

Peyton List is not taking any prisoners in the season two trailer for Cobra Kai.

In the new season, fans will dive back into the action with Daniel LaRusso (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny Lawrence (William Zabka), just months after the shocking return of John Kreese (Martin Kove).

When a new rivalry between opposing dojos is born in the aftermath of Cobra Kai’s controversial win at the All Valley Championships, Daniel realizes his next countermove is to open his own karate training school called Miyagi-Do, in honor of his mentor Mr. Miyagi.

What was once a personal feud between Daniel and Johnny escalates beyond their differences to engulf their students, who as teenagers, are already challenged to figure out who they are and who they want to be. Which path will they follow – Cobra Kai or Miyagi-Do?

Peyton will join Mary Mouser, Jacob Bertrand and Xolo Mariduena in the new season.

Cobra Kai will premiere April 24th on YouTube.
