JJJ recently caught up with Maia to find out what’s in store for them in The Fosters‘ upcoming fifth season.
“Their relationship is quite complicated so I don’t think you’re going to see them be each other’s person this season,” Maia told us. “They do have such a strong connection and understanding of each other so you will see them checking in with each other, underneath it all they still care about each other a lot.”
Do you think Callie and Brandon should end up together? Stay tuned for more from our interview with Maia!
The Fosters premieres on Tuesday, July 11 at 8/7c on Freeform.
Sweet/Vicious actor Max Ehrich teamed up with his pal, The Fosters star David Lambert, for a killer rendition of The Beatles classic “Let It Be.”
While both guys are great actors, they also have really beautiful voices too! Not to mention, David also shows off his piano skills in the cover video.
“David and I have become close friends and have wanted to artistically collaborate for a while now. It was a genuinely great vibe,” Max told JustJaredJr.com.
“We chose ‘Let It Be’ because it’s one of our favorite songs by my favorite band The Beatles,” he said. “It just organically felt right. During this time we are currently living in, we hope it can spread some light and love.”
Jude (Hayden Byerly) discovers Jack’s (Tanner Buchanan) bruises in this new still from The Fosters.
In “Under Water”, after Callie (Maia Mitchell) and Jude discover Jack is being abused by other boys in his group foster home, they turn to foster care advocate Justina (Kelli Williams) to get him help.
Meanwhile, Jesus (Noah Centineo) attempts to get to know Gabe at work even as Nick urges him to tell Gabe the truth about who he is, and Mariana (Cierra Ramirez) is surprised when Nick asks her out.
We caught up with the 22-year-old actor to get the scoop on Brandon’s relationship with Callie (Maia Mitchell) moving forward, his new love interest Courtney, and how it’s been working with Noah Centineo in the role of Jesus.
Check it out below! And don’t forget – The Fosters airs TONIGHT, February 1 @ 8PM on Freeform.
JustJaredJr.com: Brandon is worried about burdening his moms with the Julliard tuition, but they are supportive of him. Is this going to be a running worry of Brandon’s this season, especially given that they just found out about Stef’s diagnosis?
David Lambert: I definitely think this will be one of the things that Brandon puts on his shoulders, which also starts to show a bit more of a mature Brandon. He is turning 18 by the end of this season and I think he is beginning to see things in a more adult light.
JJJ: Brandon and Callie decided to be honest if they are seeing someone else., which is easier said than done. Who do you think is going to have a harder time with that, and seeing the other with someone else?
DL: I think it will ultimately be really tough on both of them. In the second half of season 3three, we see them staying very preoccupied with other obstacles and elements that they’re individually dealing with. I think they will also have very different ways of coping with it and sort of burying the whole thing. Brandon is obviously more of an artist and I think he will find comfort in music or things along those lines. Coming up soon, we will find out his newest musical “phase” that he’ll be taking on and I think what happened between him and Callie played a big part in inspiration for its themes.
