BFFs Taylor Swift and Selena Gomez are voicing their support for March for Our Lives.
The “Delicate†songstress and the “It Ain’t Me” singer spoke out about the need for gun reform on Instagram on Friday (March 23).
“No one should have to go to school in fear of gun violence,” Taylor captioned the March for Our Lives logo. “Or to a nightclub. Or to a concert. Or to a movie theater. Or to their place of worship. I’ve made a donation to show my support for the students, for the March For Our Lives campaign, for everyone affected by these tragedies, and to support gun reform. I’m so moved by the Parkland High School students, faculty, by all families and friends of victims who have spoken out, trying to prevent this from happening again.”
Selena shared the same logo within minutes, captioning it, “Protect kids, not guns! #MarchForOurLives.”
Following the horrific Parkland High School shooting last month, teenage shooting survivors organized the march this weekend in Washington, D.C., inspiring “sibling marches†around the country as well to raise awareness about gun violence issues.
While Selena has made a few political statements in the past (including speaking out in defense of DACA), Taylor has never really been political on social media, though she did tweet in support of the women’s march last year.
Other celebs, including Carly Rae Jepsen, Camila Cabello, Zedd, Ellen DeGeneres, Grace VanderWaal, and more, have also been using their platforms to promote the campaign.
