Tahj Mowry has landed a new series regular role in an upcoming television pilot!
The former Baby Daddy star will be in the new series Black Don’t Crack, a comedy pilot for ABC, according to Deadline.
In the series, three former sorority sisters who lost touch after college, reunite during a pivotal point in their lives. They realize sometimes it’s okay to crack and when you do, no one will be there for you like your friends.
Tahj will play “Khalil Grant, Angela’s (Sherri Shepard) 20 something son. He is a recent college grad who is full of big ideas and big dreams, but has yet to get any of his start-up companies off the ground. A bit of slow starter at life, he lives in his mother’s basement and still relies on her to do his laundry and front him rent money. He is fiercely protective of his family and is gradually growing into a responsible adult.”
This series will also reunite Tahj with his Smart Guy co-star Essence Atkins, who will be one of the former sorority sisters. It’s been over 20 years since Smart Guy aired, where Essence played Tahj‘s older sister.
“Words can’t even begin to describe how awesome God is or how grateful and excited I am to be a part of this new ABC project that stars the incredible awesome talented artists @sherrieshepherd @bethgrantactor @isaiahmustafa and my former baby brother now grown a$$ incredible super dope brother in Christ @tahj_mowry (yup Smart Guy in the building). God is showing off and I am honored and humbled by his generosity. 🥰💃ðŸ½ðŸ™ŒðŸ¾ðŸŽ‰ðŸ¾ðŸ¦‹ðŸ¤Žâœ¨ðŸ™ðŸ½,” Essence shared on Instagram.
