'Scream Queens' Will Not Get a Third Season

Sad news for fans of Scream Queens – the show will not be coming back for more seasons on Fox.

This week marks the week where all of the major networks announce their schedules for the upcoming season and Fox chairman Gary Newman just told reporters that there are “no plans to tell more stories there.”

The first season of Scream Queens told the story of a killer wrecking havoc on a sorority at a fictional university while the second season saw most of the characters working at a hospital, where another killer was trying to kill off the sorority girls.

Emma Roberts, Lea Michele, Billie Lourd, Keke Palmer, Abigail Breslin, and Jamie Lee Curtis starred in the series from Ryan Murphy.

Lea Michele & Emma Roberts Bring 'Scream Queens' to EW PopFest!

Lea Michele and Emma Roberts share a moment on stage at the “Ryan Murphy and Friends” panel at Entertainment Weekly’s 2016 EW PopFest on Sunday (October 30) in Los Angeles.

The Scream Queens co-stars were joined by Jamie Lee Curtis, creator Ryan Murphy, Evan Peters, Kathy Bates, and Cuba Gooding Jr.

During the panel, Lea dished a little about her character Hester, and when Ryan told her about the direction of the character this season.

“When Ryan told me what this season would be about, he told me it was very a la Silence of the Lambs,” she told EW. “I love horror films and it is one of my favorites. For a couple of the scenes, we watched the movie and sort of recreated frame-by-frame, which I thought was awesome.”
