Josh Gad and Luke Evans are both set to reprise their roles as LeFou (Louie) and Gaston.
The upcoming eight episode, limited series is also developed, executive-produced and written by Josh, along with Once Upon a Time creators Edward Kitsis and Adam Horowitz. They will all also serve as co-showrunners.
We have our first look at the new Disney+ short Once Upon a Snowman!
The upcoming short, which premieres on Disney+ THIS Friday (October 23), follows Olaf’s first steps as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle.
Josh Gad will of course return to voice everyone’s favorite snowman to help tell the untold origins of the Frozen character. Also returning for the short, as seen in the trailer, is the hilarious Oaken from Wandering Oaken’s Trading Post!
Once Upon a Snowman is just latest that we get to see of Olaf, following the quarantine series, At Home With Olaf, and Olaf’s Frozen Adventure.
Olaf is the center of attention in a new Disney+ short!
The huggable snowman, voiced by Josh Gad, will get his very own origin story in Once Upon A Snowman.
Here’s a synopsis: What happened to Olaf within the moments after Elsa created him as she was “letting it go†and building her ice palace, and when Anna and Kristoff first meet him in the forest? And how did Olaf learn to love Summer? The previously untold origins of Olaf, the innocent and insightful, summer-loving snowman who melted hearts in the Academy Award®-winning 2013 Disney animated feature, Frozen, and its acclaimed 2019 sequel, are revealed in the all-new Walt Disney Animation Studios animated short.
The short film follows Olaf’s first steps as he comes to life and searches for his identity in the snowy mountains outside Arendelle.
Once Upon A Snowman premieres on Disney+ on October 23rd!
There’s a new docu-series coming to Disney+ all about Animal Kingdom at Walt Disney World in Orlando, Fla.
In Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom, National Geographic will give viewers an all-encompassing backstage pass to explore the magic behind two of the world’s most beloved animal experiences, Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT.
Frozen‘s Josh Gad will narrate the eight part series which dives into the details within The Most Magical Place on Earth, unveiling the multifaceted aspects of animal care, operations and Imagineering.
Animals from the Gorilla Falls Exploration Trail, Harambe Wildlife Reserve, Kilimanjaro Safaris, Discovery Island, Tiger Temple, and The Seas with Nemo & Friends at EPCOT will all be featured in the show.
“Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom captures the spirit of these two world-famous parks and its animals and ushers that feeling directly into viewers’ living rooms,†Josh said in a statement. “Each episode, we get to know these animals intimately and are immersed in the magic of Disney, and it’s been a joy giving voice to this ultimate adventure.â€
Magic of Disney’s Animal Kingdom will premiere on Friday, September 25th, on Disney+!
While the stars of the hit movies have said that doing movie musical sequels is always tough, Josh Gad, aka Olaf, is dishing on whether a Frozen 3 could happen.
“I mean, here’s the deal, Frozen 2 wasn’t Frozen 2 until there was a reason to exist,†he told Pop Culture. “And similarly, I don’t know if and when there will be a Frozen 3. That’s way above my pay grade, but what I can tell you is this: There was an opportunity to take these characters and bring again a sense of hope and inspiration. And it’s why the team at Disney and I teamed up on the past couple of weeks to do At Home with Olaf.”
“And so the Frozen saga continues, even if it’s not necessarily in the form of a third movie. But we’ll see!” Josh added. “If there’s always a story worth telling, I’m sure that [writer/co-director] Jennifer Lee and the incredible team over at Disney animation will tell that story one day.â€
Frozen 2 wasn’t announced until two years after the first Frozen hit theaters, and wasn’t released until six years after Frozen.
The Frozen actor dished on the similarities between the upcoming Disney+ movie and Harry Potter.
“I’m obsessed with Harry Potter,” he told Bustle. “There hasn’t been a Harry Potter in a long time. A new Harry Potter. This feels like the answer to that.”
Josh said he sees Artemis as “the antithesis to Harry.”
“Artemis starts almost at the end of Harry’s journey,” he explains. “He’s very manipulative.”
Josh also shared how the world of Artemis Fowl “speaks to a crowd and an audience that is desperately longing for something to fill that [Harry Potter] void.”
Movie theaters around the country are shut down right now, so Disney has decided to put the movie Artemis Fowl directly on Disney+ instead of delaying the release any further.
Kenneth said in a statement, “Artemis Fowl is a true original. In challenging times, a twelve year old criminal mastermind is one heck of a travelling companion. Smart, funny, and cool as mustard, he’ll take you to new worlds, meet unforgettable characters, and mix magic with mayhem. His own family is everything to him, and (although he’d never admit it), he’d be as proud as I am that families around the world will now be able to enjoy his first amazing screen adventures together, on Disney +.â€
