Katie Cassidy is speaking out for the first time since the sad loss of her father, The Partridge Family actor David Cassidy.
The 30-year-old actress, best known for her work as Laurel Lance/Black Siren on Arrow, took to Twitter to thank fans for their support during this difficult time and also share her father’s final words.
“Words cant express the solace our family’s received from all the love and support during this trying time,” Katie wrote. “My father’s last words were ‘So much wasted time.’ This will be a daily reminder for me to share my gratitude with those I love as to never waste another minute…. thank you.”

Katie Cassidy makes an explosive arrival in this first look pic from Arrow‘s upcoming season 6.
The actress, who plays Black Siren, is excited to explore her new character’s story.
“Maybe there is a chance for her to not be so evil all the time,” Katie mused in a new interview with CBR. “If they want to drag out her redemption that’s OK with me. I love playing the role. It’s so much fun.”
Katie adds, “I feel free, if that makes sense, in the material. It’s fun, I really like it. I do think she’s always going to have that mystery to her. She’s a loose canon. You’ll never know what you’re going to get.”
“It’s almost like a completely new character,” she continues, opening up about this twisted version of Laurel Lance. “Having the same sister, having the same father, having people in her life on Earth-2, creating backstory that’s exactly opposite to what we know of Laurel.”
“Having similarities but making it a little bit darker and specific details in situations that she’s walked through but maybe Laurel didn’t walk through. Then you still have someone who looked like Oliver on Earth-2, I think it’s exactly parallel but opposite.”
Arrow season 6 premieres on Thursday, October 12th @ 8PM ET/PT on The CW.
