Olivia Rodrigo Gets Candid About the Pressures of Joining the 'High School Musical' Franchise

Olivia Rodrigo looks stunning in a snap from her shoot for Mood magazine’s winter/spring issue, available now.

Here’s what the 16-year-old High School Musical: The Musical: The Series actress had to share with the mag:

On the end of Bizaardvark: “I started that work when I was 12 years old and kind of grew up on that show and grew up with all my castmates. So, having [the series end] is actually quite hard with a very emotional, definitive end of a chapter. But it was such a great experience and you know, everybody tells me don’t cry…because it happened. I try to have that mindset about the whole last season. I…took the lessons that I learned from that set throughout my whole life and I’m still best friends with so many people that I met on the show. So, yeah it was a great experience.”

On the pressure of filling the shoes of the original HSM: “Yeah that’s definitely real pressure from being a part of this amazing franchise. I’m like oh gosh am I doing it right? It’s such a nostalgic prospect franchise for people including me. After reading the whole script and talking to all the writers and amazing showrunners I had so much to talk to them about what we were doing. What they said to me is they’re not remaking it at all because there is just no way you could makeover High School Musical. There is no way to recapture that lightning in a bottle that franchise was. It was a totally new, modern, different twist, honestly, while still paying respect to the movies put me at ease. So, I think when people realize we’re doing a new thing they’ll be able to accept it.”

On her favorite memory on set: “We had so much fun! I think my favorite memory with all of us was my birthday. I turned 16 on set and so everybody took me to go roller-skating in Utah. My best friend actually flew out from LA to come and surprise me in Utah at the roller-skating rink. We all just skated around, had so much fun, and the DJ at the roller ring played my favorite music and it was just a ball. I remember feeling in the moment. I was where I belonged which was a really nice feeling.”

Cameron Dallas Opens Up About Dealing With Fame: 'I Go To A Lot Of Therapy'

Cameron Dallas Opens Up About Dealing With Fame: 'I Go To A Lot Of Therapy'

Cameron Dallas demolishes a pie on the cover of Mood magazine’s winter/spring issue, available now.

Here’s what the 25-year-old actor had to share with the mag:

On his current relationship: “I’m dating someone right now and we met at the movies and it was cool. It was natural. I didn’t have to like DM her anything so it was dope. And I would say the best advice for everyone is just to take it slow and not rush into anything.”

On dealing with fame: “I go to a lot of therapy. I think what helps me a lot is talking about it, and not even talking about [fame and attention] but just things that I’ve dealt with growing up and like inner struggles that I’ve had, and kind of working through other people that are trying to get past those problems as well. I think that does a great deal for me it’s service you know…I have a psychotherapist, a regular therapist, my primary therapist, a sex therapist, I have group therapy, art therapy, music therapy there’s just a bunch of things that you can do and it’s really cool. So, I think speaking out about what your problems are and helping others will help you with your problems as well.”

On speaking out about going to rehab: “There’s a lot of people that get sober go to rehab and they don’t talk about it. You know there is an ugly stigma around it and I think it’s really important that people start speaking out about these things because they’re real problems and you know I will talk about being an alcoholic. For example, about ten percent of everyone in U.S. is an alcoholic. So that means a big percentage of people are affected by an alcoholic. Whether it be yourself or a family member or a friend, or someone that you know. I think it’s really important to speak out. The other thing is too is mental health in general. You know for me drinking was a vehicle that made me more comfortable with myself and helped me numb things, but the real problems are behind that. Like being an ACOA [Adult Children of Alcoholics] going up with an alcoholic or having your own childhood trauma that you have to work through problems that you have and kind of just speaking out about that.

Taylor Swift Confirms She's Not Going on Full 'Lover' Tour Due to Her Mom's Health

Taylor Swift Confirms She's Not Going on Full 'Lover' Tour Due to Her Mom's Health

Taylor Swift is opening up in her Variety cover story.

The 30-year-old entertainer spoke about her mom Andrea‘s health, her Kanye West VMAs moment, and more. Here’s what she shared…

On her mom’s health after being diagnosed with cancer: “While she was going through treatment, they found a brain tumor. And the symptoms of what a person goes through when they have a brain tumor is nothing like what we’ve ever been through with her cancer before. So it’s just been a really hard time for us as a family.” Taylor confirmed to the magazine that her mom’s health is the reason she won’t be going on a full tour for Lover.

On the infamous Kanye VMAs moment: “As a teenager who had only been in country music, attending my very first pop awards show, somebody stood up and sent me the message: ‘You are not respected here. You shouldn’t be here on this stage.’ That message was received, and it burrowed into my psyche more than anyone knew. … That can push you one of two ways: I could have just curled up and decided I’m never going to one of those events ever again, or it could make me work harder than anyone expects me to, and try things no one expected, and crave that respect — and hopefully one day get it.”

On Scooter Braun and her blistering speech at the Billboard Women in Music Awards: “Well, I do sleep well at night knowing that I’m right and knowing that in 10 years it will have been a good thing that I spoke about artists’ rights to their art, and that we bring up conversations like: Should record deals maybe be for a shorter term, or how are we really helping artists if we’re not giving them the first right of refusal to purchase their work if they want to?”

Elle Fanning Opens Up About Her New Movie 'All The Bright Places'

Elle Fanning Opens Up About Her New Movie 'All The Bright Places'

Elle Fanning bursts out laughing in this cute shot from her Marie Claire cover story for February 2020.

The 21-year-old actress is talking all about her new movie, All The Bright Places. Check it:

On the importance of her upcoming film, All the Bright Places: “Depression and mental illness in young people is so real, and it’s something people don’t want to talk about and want to shy away from. It has to be out there for people to see it, to get help, to not keep it hidden.”

On how she relates to All the Bright Places: “At that age, I was experiencing first love and, like, relationships and just how impactful that is on your life. That never goes away for people. That first love is so intense and sets up so many things in your life. And also, not to get into too much, but it was also… not the best… It was kind of a tumultuous relationship.”

On her love for vintage clothing: “Some people are repulsed by that smell of vintage clothing, but I love it. I think it’s because I’m a very nostalgic person and I daydream a lot. I feel I was possibly born in the wrong era – those old movies, Grace Kelly, so gorgeous.”

All the Bright Places is out on February 28th on Netflix.

Lana Condor Opens Up About Jordan Fisher Joining 'TATBILB' Sequel & The 'Cinderella' Moment in The Film

Lana Condor Opens Up About Jordan Fisher Joining 'TATBILB' Sequel & The 'Cinderella' Moment in The Film

Lana Condor is talking all about the upcoming To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before sequel in the January 2020 issue of Teen Vogue.

Chatting with the magazine, the 22-year-old actress spoke candidly about bringing in Jordan Fisher for the role of John Ambrose McLaren.

Lana says she knew instantly that Jordan was perfect for the role, despite uproar in recasting the part.

“Would I prefer it to be someone that’s a person of color? Yes, for my own… call it selfish reasons that I would like our diverse film to be even more diverse. I actually don’t think that’s selfish; I just think that’s right,” Lana says about the recasting. “But I also wasn’t, ‘I’m only going to read with people of color or no one at all.’ I just really wanted the world to see a world of To All the Boys that looks like the one that you see every day.”

She also opened up about having her own Cinderella moment in the upcoming sequel.

“I’ve never had a Cinderella moment nor have I seen, besides I think Crazy Rich Asians, an Asian Cinderella moment, where she’s walking down the stairs, and it’s beautiful, and you’re like, ‘Holy crap,’” she recalls, speaking of the scene that’s briefly seen in the trailer for the Netflix movie. “I was standing on top of the stairs, and I was so emotional.”

Lana adds of the movie, “I feel proud to use my voice and continue to tell people that the Asian-American experience is not one experience alone. It’s something that I don’t plan on ever stopping. Making TV and movies is awesome, but if you have a purpose behind it, it’s even better.”

Stay tuned for more of Lana‘s interview highlights, and read more on TeenVogue.com now.
