Troian Bellisario Finally Gets Why PLL Fans Weren't Happy About The Spencer Twin Reveal

Troian Bellisario Finally Gets Why PLL Fans Weren't Happy About The Spencer Twin Reveal

Back in 2017, Pretty Little Liars ended and left a lot of fans upset about the reveal of Uber A – aka Alex Drake, Spencer Hastings’ identical, evil twin.

Now, Troian Bellisario is opening up about the ending and understands why it left fans upset and unsatisfied.

“It’s so funny because I knew about it so many years in advance that that’s always where it was going, but I understand that a lot of people felt very sideswiped by it,” Troian shared with Variety. “I wish we could have actually brought it in more. But we didn’t want any spoilers, and we didn’t want people to catch on. I do wish we cold have laid the groundwork a little bit more.”

She adds that she’s also gotten hooked to certain shows and says she’s been upset at certain endings.

“I’ve watched certain shows and when they’ve ended, I’ve been like, ‘F that ending! How could they do this?!’ So I guess I could understand. But at the time, I was like, ‘Guys, it ended how it ended. You got seven years of Pretty Little Liars. Deal with it. If you didn’t like it, you didn’t like it, so I’m sorry.’”

But, “when you’re really attached to characters, I think the whole point is just that you don’t want it to end — there is no ending in the world that would have satisfied the Pretty Little Liars fans. It would have been like the third Lord of the Rings,” Troian added.

“So, understanding that there’s no satisfaction you could have possibly gotten, then it’s like, ‘You take what you get. Sorry!’”

Lucy recently found out that her character Aria from Pretty Little Liars had adopted a baby with Ezra. The pair were married in the series finale, and earlier this year, the PLL: The Perfectionists Twitter account “leaked” a text message from Allison to Aria that congratulated the couple on the baby news.

“That’s awesome! You’re the first to tell me this! That’s so cute,” she told Us Weekly. “I love my PLL family. I’m so happy for them and the success on their show and I’m happy to hear that Aria and Ezra are still kicking it and have a baby, that’s great.”

Lucy Hale will always be a Rosewood girl at heart.

The 29-year-old is gearing up for her new CW series, Katy Keene, but she’ll always have a soft spot for her first big series, Pretty Little Liars.

During a new interview with Express, Lucy reminisced about her time as Aria Montgomery.

“Pretty Little Liars was an amazing eight years,” she said. “I got to build my craft and make wonderful friends and memories. I’ll always look back on that time and think incredible things. Aria was a risk taker. I feel very lucky I got to play such a bold character for many years and I miss it every day!”

Lucy is still waiting to hear about the fate of Katy Keene, but she’s hopeful that it will be picked up.

“I am actually still waiting to hear when my pilot Katy Keene gets picked up but I loved working on it – I’m so excited to be the title role.”

'The Perfectionists' Creator I Marlene King Says Season 2 Could Bring In Original 'PLL' Characters

'The Perfectionists' Creator I Marlene King Says Season 2 Could Bring In Original 'PLL' Characters

The Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists aired last night and left us all with quite a few questions… and that cliffhanger?!

Creator and EP I Marlene King recently opened up about the possibility of a season two and maybe having more original Pretty Little Liars characters making appearances.

“The original PLLs have been so supportive of this show, not just the ladies but the men,” she told EW. “Tyler’s [Blackburn] been so supportive and Ian [Harding] and hopefully we’ll find a way to bring them in. Because they can come and visit our world and it will still feel like our world. Because it is the same universe.”

Marlene also dished on what she hoped to explore more in a second season.

“Unlike our Pretty Little Liars, the Perfectionists weren’t friends coming into this show, so we really had to spend the season crafting that friendship. Now we really get to explore the idea, which was the same on PLL, that ultimately this is a show about unconditional friendship and what that looks like,” she said. “We’re going to get to see more of what an unconditional friendship looks like when it’s really tested because they will be tested this next season. And hopefully, we’ll get more into Alison and all of their personal journeys. I want to get to know more about these characters now that we’ve gotten to know them a little bit. There’s still so much more to learn about them. And more about Nolan too!
