Troian Bellisario Reveals That Spencer Could've Had An Abortion on 'Pretty Little Liars'

Troian Bellisario Reveals That Spencer Could've Had An Abortion on 'Pretty Little Liars'

Let’s get real here – if you haven’t heard about the Georgia and Alabama passing an abortion bill this week, then you might live under a rock.

The bill, which was signed by the Alabama governor, makes almost all abortions illegal within the state.

Many celebs that you probably follow on social media are speaking out about the bill, including Troian Bellisario, who revealed her character on Pretty Little Liars, actually had an abortion storyline in season 6B.

If you remember, it was revealed that during the five year time jump, Spencer and Toby had a pregnancy scare.

Taking to her Instagram Stories, she opened up about the storyline on the Freeform show.

“When we originally shot the episode, we shot TWO versions of the storyline,” she writes. “One where Spencer said she WAS pregnant (and therefore had the abortion) and one where she said ‘I wasn’t pregnant but I would never judge someone for making that choice’, and I will be honest, I have n idea ultimately who made the decision to choose the later stoyeline for the finale edit of the episode, but I agree with and was proud to portray both. You know why?”

“Because the choice should belong to the woman,” Troian concluded.

Ashley Benson & Troian Bellisario Might Direct Possible 'Perfectionists' Season 2!

Troian Bellisario and Ashley Benson might be directing during the next season of Pretty Little Liars: The Perfectionists (if it happens), according to Sasha Pieterse!

Sasha opened up about how the original Pretty Little Liars cast might be involved in the new spin-off series with her during a recent interview with ET.

“I think Ashley and Troian are going to try to direct next season, which would be amazing, if we get a next season,” Sasha told the outlet, adding that the rest of the cast has been “really, really supportive. … We love to have whoever on the show, whoever wants to join us.”

Sasha also said that there would have been more original cast members involved in season one if it weren’t for everyone’s crazy schedules.

“You know what the biggest problem is? Which is the best problem to have in Hollywood? Scheduling,” she explained. “Everyone is so busy, which is such a blessing for everybody. I’m so happy for our cast and our crew. We’ve just always been supportive of each other… but that has been our biggest challenge is scheduling. Troian had a baby, she couldn’t direct our first season.”

Aria and Ezra got to bring their new baby home, and actually named her after Aria’s mom Ella.

In a faux text message between Aria and Alison, it’s revealed that the baby girl was named Katherine Ella.

The text also revealed that Aria’s solo book, titled “Park Avenue”, was going to be made into a movie. Life is sure sweet for Aria now!

This Ezria news comes just after we got updates on Haleb and Spoby during this week’s The Perfectionists episode.

Are you still wondering what’s been going on with Spencer and Toby since I. Marlene King‘s last update? Or even with Hanna and Caleb?

Well, thanks to Mona VanderWaal’s phone call back to her friend Hanna on last night’s The Perfectionists episode, we got an answer!

“Hi, I’m so glad you picked up,” Mona told Hanna during the phone call. “No, I’m fine I just needed to hear a friend’s voice. How are you? How’s Caleb? How’s the baby?”

If you remember at the end of PLL, it was revealed that Hanna and Caleb were expecting after struggling to conceive.

Hanna also shared some surprising news with Mona, too.

“Wait, Hanna back up – what do you mean? Spencer and Toby eloped?” she asked her. “Are they registered somewhere? Of course I want to get them a gift.”

Spencer and Toby are married now!

Also, we need to actually know if they’re registered, so we can get them a gift as well.

Will More 'PLL' Cast Members Appear on 'The Perfectionists?'

Will More 'PLL' Cast Members Appear on 'The Perfectionists?'

Besides Sasha Pieterse and Janel Parrish, will more stars from the original Pretty Little Liars series make their way onto The Perfectionists spin-off?

Here’s what showrunner I. Marlene King had to say in a new interview with TheWrap:

On early casting decisions for The Perfectionists: “As [PLL] started coming to an end — maybe a year before — I started talking to the cast and floating around the idea of who’s ready to move on and who’s ready to keep exploring their characters and where they go from here. And Sasha and Janel were both really excited about the opportunity to do that. Warner Bros. had the rights to Sara’s book, and I thought this was such a great place to explore new secrets, new lies, and incorporate a couple of our great O.G. characters.”

“They were really excited about getting to explore their characters more. And I was excited because I really didn’t think we got to see enough of Mona on the first round of PLL. I know fans wanted to see more and learn more about her. They wanted her to have romance and a full life beyond just being that sort of Crazy Mona on PLL. So that was a real no-brainer for me.

On Mona’s role: “You’re going to have to wait and see. Mona was never really trustworthy on PLL — I mean, she loved Hanna, but she still hit her with a car — but I think you’re going to get to see a side of Mona that you haven’t seen before, and you’re going to be able to trust her a little bit more than you were on the other show.”

On whether or not she’s chatted with other familiar faces about popping up on the show: “Yeah, I think they’re all really excited for us. And because the show is premiering this week, we’re all getting together, there’s lots of different opportunities for the cast to support the show, and they’ve all been really fantastic. There’s quite a few people who’ve expressed interest in coming on. But for the first season, I felt it was really important to launch the show on its own and let it stand on its own two feet, so it’s not really about those appearances. But I think next season we’ll be a lot more open to having some of those OGs and those fun moments. I will say, though, even though we don’t see them, there are moments through Mona and Alison where we find out what’s going on in Rosewood. We will get information from them about what the other characters are doing.”

'The Perfectionists' Addresses What Happened With Emison on Series Premiere

'The Perfectionists' Addresses What Happened With Emison on Series Premiere

One of the biggest questions every Pretty Little Liars fan had when it was revealed that just Alison (Sasha Pieterse) would be headed to The Perfectionists, is what actually happened with her and Emily (Shay Mitchell)?

Well, we finally have an answer.

Almost immediately, we learned that trust was a big issue in the couple taking time apart from each other and Alison accepting the job offer at Beacon Heights University.

“Emily loves me. She just can’t get past the past,” she told Mona over pie. The couple are happy, but “then we’re not. It always comes back to trust.”

“We’ll explore that a little more [of what happened with the couple],” showrunner I. Marlene King shared with TVLine.

She adds, “When we left them, they were so happy. What would truly break them apart? When we looked back at the show, the one thing they always bumped up against was trust. [It wasn’t an easy decision, but since] we only had one member of that couple to bring to this show, [it was necessary].”
