'iZombie's Rose McIver Once Had To Explain Just Why She Was Researching Dominatrixes

For iZombie, Rose McIver doesn’t just play one character. — she actually plays a ton!

Like a cop, or a stripper, or JJJ‘s fave, the grumpy old man.

For the new season, Rose had to research a dominatrix and it almost got her in trouble at the airport!

“For things like this season, I ate the brain of a dominatrix. It was very interesting to research,” Rose explained during her appearance at Build Series.

“I was sitting at the airport on a flight back from LA to Vancouver and I was typing in like ‘Dominatrix Documentaries’ on YouTube,” she shared, adding, “I remember these things just started popping up and people with young families were sitting around behind me. I was sort of trying to convince them that I wasn’t a creepy pervert.

“I was like researching a role guys, it’s work,” Rose says, “There can be some very interesting situations that arise with researching for this character.”

iZombie premieres on Tuesday, April 4th on The CW.

iZombie's Rose McIver Dishes On What A 'Zombie Homeland' Is For The New Season

At the end of season two of iZombie, there was something about the “zombie homeland”…do you remember that?

So, what exactly is a “zombie homeland” and what does it actually mean for the new season, kicking off next week?

“The zombie homeland sort of speaks to the fact that there are a lot more zombies in Seattle than Liv was aware of,” Rose McIver shares with EOnline. “It becomes more of a zombie show in some ways.”

She adds, “Our zombies still aren’t exactly the zombies you’ve seen before, but there’s a lot more of us, and so the threat of how these two communities might or might not integrate is kind of what plays out over the season.”

Rose is also pictured doing some press at SiriusXM and Build Series in New York City for iZombie‘s new season.

The two stars shared on fan’s amazing tweet on their own social media just a month ahead of the series’ premiere on April 4th.

The tweet (which has now been set to private) reads: “It’s fascinating how everyone sleeps differently. I sleep on my back, my friend sleeps on his side and y’all sleep on iZombie.”

Naturally, Rahul and Rose just had to share that!

“THIS THREAD,” Rahul reacted quickly on Twitter. “It’s not a thread, it’s one tweet, I’ve just always wanted to do that.”

Rose added, “Listen to Tim. Get caught up before Season 3 premieres on April 4th. #iZombie.”

What's Happening on 'iZombie' In Season Three? Here's All We Know

iZombie just revealed it’s new key art for season three — and Liv looks like she’s in a propaganda poster!

Star Rose McIver revealed the poster on her Twitter account today and showed off the military-inspired art for the upcoming season, which debuts on April 4th.

Here’s everything we know so far about the new season:

There’s no big bad. “The big mystery of Season 3, for the audience, is trying to figure whose side they are on,” showrunner Rob Thomas shared during the TCA. “The zombies at this military outfit, Fillmore Graves, they just want to survive, and some of them are willing to go further than Liv might think necessary. But who is in the right in this situation? That’s a big part of the question. No one needs to be nefarious in a blatant way, so there is much more, “Who’s got the best plan for zombies moving forward?’”

Clive will keep his amazing reactions to Liv’s personality changes. “It’s been a lot of fun just playing with different reactions,” Malcolm Goodwin shared. “Now that Clive is in on it, sometimes he plays along with it, sometimes he could be put off by it. Sometimes he converses with the brains in a different way.”

Peyton will be a bigger part of the series. “There was a nice comfort level knowing that we had Aly for all season and could plan a story and [also] know that we get to finish that story, that we’re guaranteed to have Aly as part of the cast,” Rob shared.

The Ravi/Peyton/Blaine love triangle is back.

Major is going to eat brains. In the early episodes of the season, Liv and Major eat the brains of a father and teenage daughter who were killed in a car accident. “It wasn’t a stretch at all. That’s just who I am,” Robert Buckley jokingly said, after it’s revealed he eats the daughter’s brains.

'iZombie' Season 3 Won't Feature One Main Villain

Scoop on the third season of iZombie has arrived!

It turns out, there won’t be one main villain this time around like the first two seasons.

“The big mystery of Season 3, for the audience, is trying to figure whose side they are on,” co-creator Rob Thomas recently said (via TV Guide). “The zombies at this military outfit, Fillmore Graves, they just want to survive, and some of them are willing to go further than Liv might think necessary. But who is in the right in this situation? That’s a big part of the question. No one needs to be nefarious in a blatant way, so there is much more, ‘Who’s got the best plan for zombies moving forward?’”
