Lili Reinhart Celebrates 'Riverdale' Series Premiere Anniversary With Throwback Photos

Can you believe it’s already been four whole years since Riverdale came into our lives?!

One of the stars of the show, Lili Reinhart, took to her Instagram page to celebrate the January 26th anniversary.

“Riverdale premiered 4 years ago. And what a wild ride it has been since then. In honor of that— here are some pics from 5 years ago, when we were just little babies who had no idea that we were about to become family,” she wrote, along with photos from the pilot episode.

She shared even more pics on her story, and they include photos with co-stars Camila Mendes, KJ Apa, Madchen Amick and Cole Sprouse!

Riverdale
showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa also memorialized the day.

“Four years ago today #Riverdale premiered on the @thecw. I took this photo in Vancouver, the night before we started shooting the pilot. It’s been an unbelievable journey. Eternal gratitude to everyone who’s helped bring these characters to life and to tell these crazy stories. The writers, the directors, the producers, the executives, the crew, the editors, and tTHE CAST. And, of course, to our amazing fans. I wasn’t sure this show would ever happen; and I still can’t believe we get to work on it. Love you and THANK YOU!! ❤️🔥💥💋🚀💪🏼🪟👀🎢🐍👠💃🏻☠️” he wrote with a photo of Ashleigh Murray, Madelaine Petsch, Camila, Lili and Cole.

Madelaine reposted his photo on her Instagram story and added her own caption, “What a wild ride. This photo was taken about 5 years ago when we shot the pilot of Riverdale.”

Another 'Riverdale' Spinoff Has Been Discussed!

The CW president Mark Pedowitz has revealed that a second Riverdale spinoff has been mentioned!

The network head shared the news recently that he has “spoken to Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa about another Riverdale spin-off,” according to Deadline.

The site reports that Mark hasn’t seen a script yet, but Roberto, who is the Chief Creative Officer of Archie Comics, is thinking about the future of the characters of the show.

“I do know that he’s thinking long term on how to continue the Riverdale situation,” Mark said.

The series has already seen one spinoff, Katy Keene, which unfortunately ended after only one season on The CW. One of the characters will appear this season on Riverdale though!

Riverdale is getting ready to kick off it’s fifth season, which is starting out by wrapping up the season four storylines before making a seven year time jump.

If you missed it, we just learned what job one of the characters will have after the time jump.

This actor was also added to the cast as the husband of another character!

Will 'Chilling Adventures of Sabrina' Return In The Future??

The final season of Chilling Adventures of Sabrina has been released on Netflix, and like many others, we can’t help but want more!

A series gone too soon, but creator Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa, and even star Kiernan Shipka, teased the possibility of it coming back in the future.

Roberto had been teasing the episode ahead of the New Year’s Eve premiere, and in one post he said, “for now,” leading fans to freak out.

“This last (for now) episode showcases a group of artists and professionals working at the top of their game,” he wrote on Instagram. “But I have to give a special shout-out to our finale’s director, @robseidenglanz, who directed more episode of #Sabrina than anyone else. And pitched in to help on every episode, including the ones he didn’t direct.”

“I think everyone in the cast and crew would agree: The show wouldn’t have happened without Rob. On behalf of everyone, THANK YOU, my friend, my brother, my frequent lifeline! Looking forward to the next time we get to work together. Meanwhile, Everyone: Get your hankies ready, for the Void is almost upon us…” he added.

In a recent interview, Kiernan shared that she thinks it’s not out of the question for Sabrina to come back, maybe make an appearance on Riverdale, or even a movie!

“I think she’s pretty savvy and could find her way back to Greendale if she chose to. And I think just because I love her so much, that’s what I want to think happens,” she told ET. “I hope that other people feel like it’s not the end of Sabrina, but just the next phase of whatever kind of crazy life or afterlife she may lead. Anything is possible in the world of Sabrina.”

'PLL' Reboot 'Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin' Officially Coming To HBO Max

Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin has been picked up to series by HBO Max!

The reboot of the Freeform series is heading to the streaming service from Riverdale‘s Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa.

Here’s a synopsis: Twenty years ago, a series of tragic events almost ripped the blue-collar town of Millwood apart. Now, in the present day, a group of disparate teen girls — a brand-new set of Little Liars — find themselves tormented by an unknown Assailant and made to pay for the secret sin their parents committed two decades ago…as well as their own. In the dark, coming-of-RAGE, horror-tinged drama Pretty Little Liars: Original Sin, we find ourselves miles away from Rosewood, but within the existing Pretty Little Liars universe — in a brand new town, with a new generation of Little Liars.

“Coming soon to @hbomax. Secrets to die for. Sins to kill for. A new generation of little liars. Very honored and excited to be working on this, especially with #CAOS super-writer and #PLL savant @lindsaycbring. #originalsin #kiss-and-kill #coming-of-RAGE #where-is-angela-waters?? 💅🏻👠🔥💋💄💃🏻🌹🎭🎟🚑☠️,” Roberto wrote on Instagram.

“We’re such huge fans of what I. Marlene King and her iconic cast created, we knew that we had to treat the original series as #CANON and do something different. So we’re leaning into the suspense and horror in this reboot, which hopefully will honor what the fans loved about the hit series, while weaving in new, unexpected elements,” Roberto and co-executive producer/writer Lindsay Calhoon Bring said in a statement.

“Also, couldn’t resist a sneak peek at Prom Night (our first episode back) with these two beautiful ladies! Rest assured, ALL the queens will reigning SUPREMELY next season! #Riverdale ❤️🚢💨💥🌹🐍💃🏻🌈🎭💋,” he captioned the pic.

In case you missed it, he also announced that season five is officially in pre-production, and in another birthday post, Vanessa shared that she can’t wait to be on set with Madelaine in two weeks.

'Riverdale' Boss Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa Teases Cliffhanger On Tonight's Season Finale

Riverdale season four is coming to an end early tonight (May 6)!

The CW series’ finale lands on the 19th episode, out of 22, due to production being shut down because of the pandemic.

Showrunner Roberto Aguirre-Sacasa opened up about making this episode the finale, the episode’s cliffhanger, and where it will pick up next season.

“We had gotten through shooting more than half of episode 20, which is our big prom episode, [before production shut down],” Roberto told ET. “When it became clear that we weren’t gonna be able to finish the season, the first thing I kind of did was look at episode 20 to see if we could cobble together an episode from that.”

“And though we actually shot the prom, where a lot of dramatic stuff happened, there were so many emotional scenes with Archie and Veronica and Jughead and Betty that it felt like we just couldn’t quite do it,” he added.

Roberto shared that after watching a first cut of the episode, “It felt like we could definitely treat 19 as our finale and then senior prom would be our season premiere next year.”

“It has a really disturbing, kind of, gruesome cliffhanger,” he continued, before praising Mädchen Amick, who made her directorial debut with the episode.

“19 is so fun and turned out so well and Mädchen directed for the first time and she did great!” Roberto shared. “It’s such a fun teenage type of story that it felt like, ‘Oh, this will be as satisfying to the fans as any episode — or more satisfying than a lot of episodes.’ So we felt good about it.”
