The Addams Family is back for more in the upcoming sequel!
It was just announced that the second movie will be released on October 8, 2021, with two new additions to the cast.
“The success of last year’s animated film was proof of the enduring legacy of The Addams Family and its ability to transcend popular culture. This second film will be every bit as fun as the original,” Director Greg Tiernan said in a statement. “We are thrilled to welcome Bill Hader (Cyrus) and Javon Walton (Pugsley), and to welcome back our incredible original cast for this exciting next chapter in the Addams’s journey.â€
Here’s a synopsis: The Addams get tangled up in wacky adventures and find themselves involved in hilarious run-ins with all sorts of unsuspecting characters. Always staying true to themselves, the Addams Family brings their iconic spookiness and kookiness wherever they go.
Chloe Moretz (Wednesday), Charlize Theron (Morticia), Oscar Isaac (Gomez), Nick Kroll (Fester), Bette Midler (Grandma) and Snoop Dogg (It) are all returning for the animated sequel.
AND, an Addams Family fan will have the opportunity to voice a yet-to-be-named character in the film by entering The Addams Family Voice Challenge. Ben and Bette star on the new Netflix series The Politician while Beanie worked with the legendary entertainer in the Broadway musical Hello, Dolly.
If you didn’t know, Beanie, Noah, and Molly all starred in the movie Booksmart.
Joining Ben and Bette were their The Politician co-stars Lucy Boynton, Julia Schlaepfer, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones, Judith Light, and Laura Dreyfuss.
Ben Platt and Zoey Deutch wear seemingly color-coordinated looks while walking the red carpet together at the premiere of their show The Politician on Thursday (September 26) at the DGA Theater in New York City.
The two actors are best friends in real life after working on the Netflix series together. The show launches at midnight, so get ready to start your binge!
The star-studded event was attended by the show’s full cast including Lucy Boynton, Laura Dreyfuss, David Corenswet, Theo Germaine, Rahne Jones, Julia Schlaepfer, Trevor Eason, Trey Eason, Russell Posner, and Ryan Haddad, plus veteran cast members Gwyneth Paltrow, Jessica Lange, Judith Light, Bette Midler, January Jones, and Dylan McDermott.
Ryan Murphy and Gwyneth‘s husband Brad Falchuk, two of the show’s creators and executive producers, were also in attendance. Janet Mock, who directed an episode, was there too. Indya Moore, who stars in Ryan‘s show Pose, stepped out for the event as well!

We are so excited to see The Addams Family!
The animated comedy, which is due to open in theaters on October 11, just dropped the first teaser trailer on Tuesday (April 9).
Here’s a plot summary: Get ready to snap your fingers! The Addams Family is back on the big screen in the first animated comedy about the kookiest family on the block. Funny, outlandish, and completely iconic, The Addams Family redefines what it means to be a good neighbor.
The voice cast includes Oscar Isaac, Charlize Theron, Chloë Grace Moretz, Finn Wolfhard, Nick Kroll, Bette Midler and Allison Janney.
