Loren Gray is dishing on what it would be like for if TikTok was banned in the United States.

If you didn’t know, President Trump is threatening to ban the video app by September 15th if another company doesn’t acquire it. TikTok execs have assured it isn’t going anywhere though.

Loren, who of course is a singer, recently spoke out about the ban when asked during an interview on the Musicology with Tim Kash show on Quibi.

“I feel like whatever happens is probably in the best interest of the country,” she said. “I’m very fortunate that I have built up platforms on other social medias outside of TikTok, so I don’t think it would be a career ending scenario, but it would be sad.”

Loren is currently one of the top five most followed people on the social media app.

Loren Gray has just dropped her new track “Alone“!

The 18-year-old singer released the new song on Tuesday (July 21), her second during quarantine.

“‘Alone’ is the first love song I’ve ever written,” Loren said in a statement. “I’m so happy it’s out in the world and I hope my fans aka my angels love ‘Alone’ as much as I do.”

Loren‘s new song is the second in a series of tunes that she recorded at home during quarantine. Her first one was “Cake”, which she also enlisted some friends to be in the music video.

“Alone” will also be featured in Best Buy’s Back To School campaign for Lenovo Laptops. The campaign features the song in a “choose your own adventure” digital video series.

Demi Lovato and Madelaine Petsch are two of the celebs featured in Kim Petras‘ new music video for her latest single “Malibu“!

The 25-year-old Riverdale star’s BFF Daniel Preda is also in the video, along with Aly & AJ, Todrick Hall, Nikita Dragun, Charli XCX, Loren Gray, Paris Hilton, Brittany Tomlinson, and Scott Hoying.

Jonathan Van Ness, Benito Skinner, Pabllo Vittar, Jessie J, Aquaria, Amanda Lepore, Dorian Electra, Bowen Yang, Slayyyter, Gabriel Fontana, and Theodoraa Quinlivan, along with many fans, can also be seen in the music video.

Kim recently opened up getting fans to be in the at home video.

“I’ve been asking all my fans to send me videos of them bringing the beach to their home. So, I’ve been getting so many videos of them in bikinis, with drinks, on beach towels, in their bathtub,” she told Apple Music. “People have really been getting creative for that.”

“So, I’m really excited for that to come out because I really think that’s going to make you feel like you just went to the beach, which was initially all I want to do with the song,” Kim added. “I just want you to feel like you just went to the beach and have a good time. That’s really all I want from the song.”

Amid the quarantine, Loren decided to plan a virtual party with her friends: Ariel Martin, Tati McQuay, Brooke Kier and Erika Marosi. They all shot footage of the party prep, including cake baking and glam, at their homes and joined up on Zoom for a Girls’ Night In, directed by Nikko LaMere.

The song was started earlier this year prior to lockdown, and Loren finished the song by creating her own at-home studio. The release follows her recent appearances in music videos for Taylor Swift‘s “The Man” and Kim Petras‘ “Malibu.”

She recently made headlines after opening up about a very personal matter that happened when she was 12.

Loren Gray opened up to her fans in a big way over the weekend, by sharing the story of hersexual assault that happened when she was just 12.

The 18-year-old singer and TikTok star shared a video on her account, recalling the details of what happened to her.

“This is me, over five years ago, not long before my 13th birthday,” Loren started, sharing a throwback pic. “At this time, I had my innocence stolen from me in the basement of someone I trusted. I only told one person and to this day she remains my best friend. We cried in my bathroom together for hours.”

She continued, “I struggled to put the pieces together as to why this had happened to me. It took two months for me to finally tell my parents. I felt dirty, hopeless, broken and worthless. I was confused and scared. I felt like it was my fault.”

“I was homeschooled and began making videos to pass the time and ease some of the loneliness and isolation I had felt. People were watching my videos and although I was still struggling, I felt like I had finally found people who cared, regardless of my situation,” Loren went on. “Although, every now and then the comments and questions would be too much. ‘She looks like a whore.’ ‘Are you a virgin?’”

Loren added that she was “always afraid to tell people my story, fearing people would view me differently and I would lose those I cared about. I’m 18 now and I’ve realized that my past does not define me. It was never my fault and I never deserved it.”

“I came out stronger and I’m so proud of myself,” she shared. “There is light at the end of the tunnel and if my story can help even ONE person, then to me it’s a story worth telling.”

After she posted the video, Loren also added a thank you to fans offering their love and support for her on Twitter.

The 17-year-old went live on TikTok on Tuesday (March 24) and chatted with fans, when one asked how she thought about the 15-year-old surpassing her in followers.

“i’ve never been here for follower. i’m proud of how far i’ve come & i’m rooting for charli. I think she’s amazing. its never been a competition,” Loren said.

“i’m happy y’all ! no need to put girls against eachother. i’m here for fun & for u. pls don’t bring down one person to lift the other,” she added.

Charli D’Amelio is officially the most followed person on TikTok!!

The 15-year-old dancer has just passed Loren Gray in the amount of followers.

Loren has held the title for quite some time. She currently has 41.3 million followers, and Charli is now at 41.4 million.

Charli has over one billion likes on the platform and her popularity is rising even more!

Since starting her TikTok, Charli has received many opportunities. She has been recording for a new animated series called Stardog & Turbocat.

Back in February, she was able to go to her first fashion show during Milan Fashion Week!

Charli has also been planning a summer tour where she wants to meet as many fans as possible. Although, with the current world health crisis, we don’t know if or when that will happen.
