Can you believe there’s only one episode of The Originals left before the series finale?!
When TV Guide asked the cast what they’ll miss most about their CW show, they all brought up their fans.
“This show wouldn’t have existed without you guys,” Joseph Morgan said. “You watched Vampire Diaries and you started putting all of these trailers online, making all these trailers for The Originals. I mean, you guys even named it… You took a couple of villains from that show and you decided you wanted a show about them, and I’m just so grateful we got to go on that journey with you, so thank you so much for that experience.”
“We really worked hard to tell great stories for you,” showrunner Julie Plec added, “And your passion and your enthusiasm and your total rage at me for saying the show was over means that it meant a lot to you, and I appreciate that.”
“Your love and your support and your kindness does not go unnoticed,” Claire Holt shared. “We talk about it all the time, and I’ll remember it for the rest of my life.”

With Zane’s new role at Empirical, will he and Kelsey be able to settle their differences and work together for the better of the company?

Over the weekend, showrunner Julie Plec revealed to a fan who asked that his character, Marcel, just hasn’t had a good piano moment on the show in a while for good reason.
“Funny thing about Charles, he started taking lessons in Season 1 and I thought he was terrible!” she admitted. “So it never occurred to me to write in any piano scenes.”
But we think he changed her mind during their last Comic-Con: “He sat down in the hotel lobby and played and he was great. The lessons took!”
Writer Carina Adly MacKenzie also admits that she loves to hear Charles play too and has the perfect idea on how they can write it in.
“When I have downtime on set I always go sit in Charles’ dressing room. He plays piano, I sit on the couch, we don’t talk. I leave with all of my anxiety cured,” she tweeted. “He’s a magician. Marcel can play – Elijah taught him – we’ve just never seen it.”
Here’s hoping we see Charles play on the final season!
THANK YOU VERY MUCH. Funny thing about Charles, he started taking lessons in Season 1 and I thought he was terrible! So it never occurred to me to write in any piano scenes. But this year at comic-con he sat down in the hotel lobby and played and he was great. The lessons took!

The actor, who plays Marcel on the show, credited Paul Wesley for catching the directing bug.
“It all started from finding out that Paul Wesley had directed [on The Vampire Diaries] and just chatting with Paul,” he reveals. “This was season 1 of when we were shooting and they [Vampire Diaries] were still in season 4. But it just sparked the idea and I just started asking around.”
Charles added, “I became so curious. I got some tips, and then I started shadowing around season two, and then they gave [Joseph Morgan] an episode in season there and I watched and learned from Joe.”
