Melissa Benoist & Chris Wood Welcomed Their Baby Boy 'A Few Weeks Ago'

Melissa Benoist has given birth to a baby boy!

The 31-year-old Supergirl star announced the news on her Instagram account on Friday (September 25).

“Huxley Robert Wood got here a few weeks ago ♥️ and this little boy is everything,” she captioned a photo of his little hand with her husband Chris Wood‘s hand.

“Our son was born his name is Huxley he’s amazing and no it’s probably none of your business xo brb see you in 18 years,” Chris captioned the photo on his page.

Melissa announced that she was pregnant and expecting the couple’s first baby back in March. Her show Supergirl‘s season six production was pushed back due to her pregnancy.

The baby’s birth news comes just a few days after Melissa confirmed that the upcoming sixth season of Supergirl would be the last for the Arrowverse series.

Huge congrats are in order for Chris Wood and Melissa Benoist! They are expecting their first child together!

“A non-canine child is coming to our family very soon!!! 😱😆😭 @christophrwood has always been an old dad by nature but now he’s going to be a real one,” Melissa captioned her photo on Instagram. The pic features her pups, plus her and Chris holding baby photos!

Chris and Melissa got married just a few months ago in September of 2019. Congrats to the happy couple on the wonderful news!

Melissa Benoist & 'Supergirl' Cast Hit 100 Episode Milestone!

Melissa Benoist takes the center spot in this group photo of the cast and crew of Supergirl at their 100th episode celebration held at Fairmont Pacific Rim Hotel on Saturday night (December 14) in Vancouver, Canada.

The 31-year-old actress was joined at the event by current and past co-stars including Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Katie McGrath, Andrea Brooks, and Elizabeth Tulloch.

Also in attendance were Melissa‘s husband and former cast mate Chris Wood, cast members Jesse Rath, Nicole Maines, Julie Gonzalo, Staz Nair, and Azie Tesfai, as well as Executive Producer Greg Berlanti, President of Warner Bros Television Peter Roth, and CW Network President Mark Pedowitz.

Supergirl‘s 100th episode will be season five’s upcoming 13th episode, which is set to air in February 2020.

Chris Wood Shows His Support For Wife Melissa Benoist Following Her Domestic Violence Reveal

Chris Wood is opening up and sharing all his support for wife Melissa Benoist, following her eye-opening video describing the domestic violence she went through in a previous relationship.

The 31-year-old actor, who once starred with Melissa on Supergirl, shared a message on social media for Thanksgiving (November 28).

“Happy Thanksgiving! I’m going to kiss my wife and hold her tenderly. All day. And every day. How do YOU show love? #IStandWithMelissa,” he posted on his Twitter account, using the hashtag many fans and stars trended to voice their support.

If you didn’t know, Melissa revealed in an emotional video on Wednesday (November 27) that she is a survivor of domestic violence, and detailed the abuse she experienced in a past relationship.

Chris Wood Reprising 'The Vampire Diaries' Character Kai Parker For 'Legacies'

Get ready to freak out The Vampire Diaries fans!!

Chris Wood is returning to Mystic Falls as Kai Parker in the current second season of Legacies, EW confirms.

The Supergirl actor first played the role in TVD‘s sixth season, and came back in the eighth and final seasons.

“Miss me? 😈,” he wrote on Twitter after the news was announced.

Showrunner Julie Plec has previously said that it was her goal to have him return for the latest spin-off.

“It’s so rude of me and so presumptuous, but I am just going to keep layering in Kai Parker until Chris Wood feels like he’s got no choice but to come back and play in our sandbox,” she told EW. “I would love nothing more than to see that character again. I think he’d drop perfectly into this story line. I’m going to keep my fingers crossed and hope that I can make that work out one of these days.”

Chris is definitely no stranger to The CW. He’s most recently been on Supergirl alongside his wife Melissa Benoist, The Flash, Containment, and The Carrie Diaries.

The newlyweds hit the stage together to perform a song at the Concert for America on Saturday (September 21) in Los Angeles.

The Supergirl co-stars performed the song “An Old-Fashioned Wedding” from the musical Annie Get Your Gun!

The evening raised funds for the National Immigration Law Center, the only national organization whose mission is to defend and advance the rights and opportunities of low-income immigrants and their families.

Concert for America was co-presented by Greg Berlanti, Robbie Rogers, and their Berlanti Family Foundation. Greg is the producer of Supergirl!
