Supergirl Is Tied Up in New Set Photos Featuring Melissa Benoist & More

Melissa Benoist is hard at work on the final season of her The CW series Supergirl!

The 32-year-old actress was seen tied up while filming an action-packed scene on Tuesday (March 30) in Vancouver, Canada.

Melissa, who plays the title character, was joined on set by co-stars Chyler Leigh, David Harewood, Nicole Maines, and Jesse Rath.

In a new interview with EW, Melissa opened up about the one request she had when producers asked her how she wanted Kara Zor-El’s journey to end.

“They pitched it to me because they wanted to know if I had any input as to where I wanted to see Kara ending up at the end of the series,” she said. “I had one request, and it wasn’t even something they were thinking about doing. They pitched me the end, and it’s really lovely. It’s a great ending. I feel fantastic about it.”

Chyler Leigh's 'Supergirl' Co-Stars Send Love After She Opens Up About Sexuality

Chyler Leigh's 'Supergirl' Co-Stars Send Love After She Opens Up About Sexuality

Chyler Leigh has opened up about her sexuality and how she identified with her character Alex Danver’s coming out.

The 38-year-old actress shared a heartfelt letter on the Create Change website.

“When I was told that my character was to come out in season 2, a flurry of thoughts and emotions flew through and around me because of the responsibility I personally felt to authentically represent Alex’s journey. What I didn’t realize was how the scene where she finally confessed her truth would leap off the pages of the script and genuinely become a variation of my own. IRL,” she wrote.

“My heart felt like it was going to beat out of my chest each take we filmed, every time presenting another opportunity to get those honest words out of my mouth. Though they don’t exactly match my personal dialogue, the heart behind it surely did. From the director, the press, the media, the cast, and the fans, I’m still told that it was the most realistic coming out scene they’d ever witnessed. And to steal from Alex’s words, that’s because there’s some truth to what she said about me,” Chyler added.

The episode she refers to is season two, episode six.

After her article spread online, she shared a message of thanks on Instagram, and her Supergirl co-stars sent love in the comments.

“Love you sister ♥️♥️♥️,” Melissa Benoist wrote.

“I’m so incredibly proud of you and I am so happy for you. Sending you all of my love and support ❤️💚,” Nicole Maines said.

“I love you Chyler! ❤️😭🙌,” Jesse Rath commented.
