Tian Richards is guest starring on an all new episode of Nancy Drew, airing TONIGHT (May 12)!

The actor has a prominent role in the episode, titled, “The Celestial Visitor,” as it is serving as the Tom Swift backdoor pilot.

Here’s a synopsis: As things begin to go haywire at The Claw, a striking stranger appears looking for Nancy (Kennedy McMann), and announces himself as the billionaire Tom Swift (Richards). Meanwhile, Ace (Alex Saxon) has issues with the way Nancy insists on handling things with Celia (guest star Teryl Rothery).

Nancy Drew regulars Tunji Kasim, Leah Lewis, Maddison Jaizani and Riley Smith also star in the episode.

LeVar Burton has been added to the cast of Tom Swift!

The legendary actor joins Tian Richards in the potential spinoff of Nancy Drew at The CW, Deadline reveals.

LeVar won’t quite be appearing on the screen though, as he will voice Tom Swift’s steadfast AI companion and tough-love mentor Barclay.

The CW is issuing early renewals to many of it’s series!

The network just announced that 12 shows will be back for new seasons, according to Variety.

Among the early renewals include new show Walker, as well as Riverdale, The Flash, Legacies, Batwoman, Charmed, DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Nancy Drew, Roswell, New Mexico, In The Dark, Dynasty, and All American.

DC’s Legends of Tomorrow, Roswell, New Mexico, In The Dark and Dynasty have yet to premiere their new seasons on the network.

“Though we’re just a few weeks into the new season, we wanted to get a strategic head start on next season with these early renewals, which allows our production teams to start laying out story arcs and hiring staff, and at the same time, continues to provide us with a strong, stable schedule to build on for next season,” CW President Mark Pedowitz said in a statement.

“As The CW’s 2020-2021 season kicks into high gear, we are thrilled creatively with the direction of our first new shows out of the gate, Walker and Superman & Lois, that we wanted to order the additional episodes to complete their first seasons, and we are particularly pleased with the huge success of the launch of Walker, which debuted as our most watched series premiere in 5 years.”

The CW has also ordered five more episodes for Walker‘s current first season, and two more episodes of Superman & Lois, which premieres later this month.

Nancy Drew‘s second season is just around the corner!

Ahead of the season two premiere, the first episode synopsis has been revealed.

In “The Search for the Midnight Wraith,” Nancy (Kennedy McMann) and the Drew Crew are still reeling from witnessing the visions of their deaths. They realize even more so now that they need to come up with a plan to stop the Aglaeca before it’s too late.

Meanwhile, Detective Tamura (guest star Ryan-James Hatanaka) shows up at The Claw to bring Nancy in for questioning as she is now a suspect in a mysterious comatose girl’s assault.

Also starring in the series include Scott Wolf, Leah Lewis, Tunji Kasim, Riley Smith and Alvina August.

Tune in to Nancy Drew season two, premiering Wednesday, January 20, 2021 at 9pm ET/PT after the premiere of Riverdale on The CW.

The season two trailer for Nancy Drew has arrived!

The CW series is returning in 2021 for it’s sophomore season, with stars Kennedy McMann, Madison Jaizani, Tunji Kasim, Alex Saxon and Leah Lewis.

The “Bandwidth” trailer teases that we’ll see Nancy Drew “like you’ve never seen her before.”

“When I close my eyes, all I can think about is what’s waiting for us,” Kennedy can be heard saying in the clip.

In case you missed it, a Nancy Drew spinoff is in the works – Tom Swift. The possible series will air a backdoor pilot in season two, and follow Tom Swift, a Black, gay billionaire inventor who is thrust into a world of sci-fi conspiracy after the disappearance of his father.

Nancy Drew‘s season two will premiere on Wednesday, January 20th after the premiere of Riverdale.
