Elle Fanning shares a big laugh with co-star Nicholas Hoult during their panel at the 2020 Winter TCA Tour on Friday afternoon (January 17) in Pasadena, Calif.

The two actors were joined at the annual press event by producer Marian Macgowan and showrunner Tony McNamara as they chatted about their new Hulu series, The Great.

“We pride ourselves on not being historically accurate, so there is room to experiment,” Elle said during the event about how the series throws out historical accuracy.

She added, “You can look at so many oil paintings of someone, but they probably didn’t even look that way. So, it doesn’t help me so much as the script does with capturing the character that Tony has created, her essence, and what’s her journey.”

Check out the first look at the show below, premiering on May 15th!

FYI: Elle wore a Ralph Lauren look.

Elle Fanning Opens Up About Her New Movie 'All The Bright Places'

Elle Fanning Opens Up About Her New Movie 'All The Bright Places'

Elle Fanning bursts out laughing in this cute shot from her Marie Claire cover story for February 2020.

The 21-year-old actress is talking all about her new movie, All The Bright Places. Check it:

On the importance of her upcoming film, All the Bright Places: “Depression and mental illness in young people is so real, and it’s something people don’t want to talk about and want to shy away from. It has to be out there for people to see it, to get help, to not keep it hidden.”

On how she relates to All the Bright Places: “At that age, I was experiencing first love and, like, relationships and just how impactful that is on your life. That never goes away for people. That first love is so intense and sets up so many things in your life. And also, not to get into too much, but it was also… not the best… It was kind of a tumultuous relationship.”

On her love for vintage clothing: “Some people are repulsed by that smell of vintage clothing, but I love it. I think it’s because I’m a very nostalgic person and I daydream a lot. I feel I was possibly born in the wrong era – those old movies, Grace Kelly, so gorgeous.”

All the Bright Places is out on February 28th on Netflix.

We might be biased because Princess Aurora was always our favorite, but her style in Maleficent: Mistress of Evil beats out all the other live action Disney Princesses.

Elle Fanning put a spotlight on one of Aurora’s gowns on her Instagram this week and we fell even more in love with it!

“@byellenm and I call this one the ‘happily ever after dress’,” Elle explained of the gown. “It is designed specifically to pay homage to the classic Sleeping Beauty dress from the animation. I’m free if the Disney theme parks are hiring…”

Costume designer Ellen Mirojnick also shared close up details of that gown, and Aurora’s wedding gown too.

Maleficent: Mistress of Evil is out in theaters now.
