Jordyn Jones dolls up in a feathery purple top for CoverGirl’s Fall 2018 Makeup Line Sneak Peek event on Tuesday (May 8) in Los Angeles.
The 18-year-old Overnights actress and singer joined Empire‘s Serayah, Black Lightning‘s Nafessa Williams and 13 Reasons Why star Ajiona Alexus.
Inside the event, guests met Senior Vice President Ukonwa Ojo, who introduced the “I Am What I Makeup Campaign” and how this campaign is meant to evoke confidence, power, inclusivity and self-expression.
Guests were also surprised with multiple Photo Booth activations where they could interact with the new TruBlend Matte Made Foundation, Flourish Mascara and Exhibitionist Lipstick.

The actress dished on what it was like to wear the suit and how it was emotional for her to put it on for the first time.
“Oh my god, I cried!†she told EW. “It was so freaking emotional because you have to understand that I didn’t have a superhero that looked like me.â€
“I grew up in the inner city in Philly, which is a city much like Freeland. I didn’t have a superhero to look up to who had cornrows just like me and whose skin color looked like mine,” Nafessa continued. “So, it was an emotional moment knowing I was taking on that responsibility of being that to little brown girls that are watching.â€
As for actually wearing the suit, “It’s a process, but it’s fairly comfortable. It’s made out of a sculpted armor material. It stretches so I’m able to do my stunts and do what I need to do.”
“I’m hugely honored and proud to be that for this generation and be a part of telling Black Lightning’s story, because not many of us knew who Black Lightning was until now,†she added.

China Anne McClain laughs it up with on-screen sister Nafessa Williams during their appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers on Monday night (February 5) in New York City.
The Black Lightning stars opened up about what the audience is connecting with the new series.
“It’s very rooted in reality,” China explains. “When it comes to a superhero like Superman, it’s very fantastical. You don’t really feel like you can walk outside and be like ‘it’s a bird, it’s a plane’.”
She adds, “With Black Lightning, you feel like you could see him walking down the street. Like ‘Oh, there’s our neighborhood hero’.”
